Just In – Royal Racing Stage Jersey and Esquire Shorts

Royal Racing Stage Jersey

want to go race enduro …but you’re DH and XC gear options just don’t
fit the bill….we spoke at length to some of the best enduro racers in
the world, the result: The Royal Stage Jersey. As its name suggests the
Stage is designed for enduro stage racing. Specifically tailored for a
‘flap free’ slim, but not too slim, loose, but not too loose, ‘just
right fit’. Large mesh side vents and ‘Light Active’ moisture management
T-Dot body fabric keep you dry and cool through the most demanding
stages, the neck zip allows you to cool further if needed. The Stage
jersey is designed to suit the full array of conditions you’ll encounter
on a full day out on the trails. Jersey of choice for 2014 Trek World
Racing Enduro, SPS Enduro, and Cotic Enduro teams.

  • Active moisture management T-Dot fabric
  • Large micro mesh vents
  • Zip Neck
  • Lycra edged push up cuffs
  • Colors – Red/Black, Grey/Black, Blue/Black
  • Sizes – S/M/L/XL/XXL(Grey Only)

 First Impressions
really like the fit of this jersey, as it’s comfortably loose without
being too baggy. It has a good cut, with adequate length in the arms and
torso, and I didn’t feel any binding around the back or shoulders. The
pushed up cuffs on the wrist are a bit odd, but they seem to work. The
short front quarter length zipper works quite nicely, allowing a bit of
ventilation and comfort, and its easy to roll it back up when the
temperatures drop. It has nice long side vents to help push the air
through the jersey, while the main front and rear sections have a tight
enough weave that you don’t cool off when a breeze or the temps get
lower. I could wear some soft armor without any issues, which is
surprising since the arms seem too tight for much of anything. I have
worn the jersey by itself on warmer days and with a liner for cooler
days, and it seemed to dissipate moisture adequately.

The Stage
jersey is comfortable, offers excellent sun protection, dissipates sweat
well and vents nicely for a full sleeved jersey.

First Impressions
are a great pair of shorts, and I am really glad to see that Royal
Racing has kept improving their products, and I am especially pumped up
to see that the front snaps finally work properly! The two-piece Esquire
utilizes a comfortable and very stretchy material throughout, with mesh
front and back vents for good ventilation. It has two hand pockets and a
small zippered security pocket for valuables. The front zip is nice and
long for pee breaks, and the front latch and double snaps work quite
well, though I’ll have to see how the snaps work over time. For waist
adjustment, it has an easy dual ‘hook and loop’ system, and the chamois
liner is greatly improved over their older versions, but it still
doesn’t feel on par with some other top notch brands.

The Esquire is a great pair of shorts, that are comfortable, stretchy, with a long cut, and offers lots of useful features.
