Northwave Introduces the Matrix Shoe

by Brian Mullin on June 30, 2014

Northwave Matrix is a comfortable Freeride and All Mountain bike shoe,
that is flexible for walking while still retaining enough stiffness for
good power transfer while riding. It uses their X-Crossbow sole which
has a double crossbow construction, and has shoe laces and a strap for
closure. For those really damp and muddy days, they come with a set of
waterproof and taped shoe covers, so you can meet the demands of the
foulest weather.

This looks like a great pair of shoes for long
hike-a-bike sessions, bashing in gnarly terrain and all around usage for
mountain biking, where walking and riding are both important functions. It comes in two colors, sizes 36-49 and retails for $130.

Press Release

say it, roads stand out to confirm that: cycling diffusion is growing
more and more, and the number of riders keeps on increasing – at every
level – all over Europe and beyond. It is passion in a number of shades:
from tarmac purists to dirt lovers, up to those who choose their bikes
to spend some fun hours in the nature, with no pressure nor any actual
goal to pursue other than enjoying their time.

It is for those
passionate riders that Northwave created Matrix, the latest model of the
Italian brand’s All-Mountain range. Matrix suits the demands of those
who wish to make the best out of a mountain-bike ride, using dedicated
shoes with a quick-release system, while not giving up on walking
comfort once they get off the saddle.

Thanks to its long-time
experience in technical shoe wear, Northwave managed to conceive a real
multi-use shoe, versatile and reliable on and off the saddle, with an
anti-slip natural rubber tread sole to provide stability and grip for
any kind of excursion.
