Phantasm and Protocol Jersey

Club Ride has followed a different path than most cycling apparel companies, and they have always stuck to their western roots. Their fashion paradigm has dictated a comfortable and classic western style that was highly wearable and looked like normal apparel while still using high-tech fabrics and cycling based features.

This year they’re adding more vibrant colors, staid patterns and styling and Enduro based products. Highlights include the wild Phantasm long sleeved All Mountain jersey, the brightly colored Enduro based Pipeline and Cargo Away shorts, along with Detour and Protocol jerseys.

Phantasm Jersey

The new Phantasm is a long sleeved All Mountain jersey that is lightweight and very breathable. It has a cool camouflage pattern on the sleeves with venting that runs asymmetrically down the body for optimal cooling when out in the sun. It has a relaxed and comfortable fit and the long sleeves provide sun protection and help with abrasions from branches. It has UPF 2o sun coverage, a media port and comes in two fun colors, Cobalt, and Kermit, and retails for $54.95. I am looking forward to trying this baggy jersey out, and I appreciate the sun protection a long sleeved, plus the colors and patterns are a hoot!

Chamois System

Chamois System

They use their RideTime specific system for chamois, so they have a 1, 2, 3 and 4+-hour chamois. As you move up in the chamois product line from 1-hour to 4-hour, the padding increases in thickness and features become more refined and technical. The 1-hour has a 3mm single-density pad, the 2-hour has an 8mm dual-density pad, the 3-hour an 8mm dual-density gel pad and finally the 4+- hour uses a thick 10mm triple-density gel pad. The styling of the chamois inner wear goes from a boxer or brief type for the 1-hour, a more normal type for the 2 and 3-hour and the 4+-hour uses a bib system. The prices range from $29.95 to $89.95. For women, the top of the line 4+ hour chamois has a quick drop system with a zipper on each side, allowing the call of nature without having to disrobe entirely.
