 Kestrel Lace

For the 2016 season, Five Ten has four new models, including the tricked out clipless Kestrel Lace, the flat pedal Freerider ELC and Freerider Women’s Contact and the Sam Hill Impact.

Kestrel Lace

The new Kestrel Lace is a clipless shoe based on last years Kestrel that used the BOA closure system. This new version of the Kestrel is designed to efficiently transferring power using a nylon shank. Though it has 15% stiffness than the original models carbon based shank, it’s lighter and can walk better. The shank is combined with an EVA midsole for shock absorption along with their sticky Stealth S1 outsole for durability and friction. The $160 shoes uses a light synthetic mesh upper that has a PU coating for weather and abrasion resistance and comes in men’s and women’s version.

 Freerider ELC

Freerider ELC

The Freerider ELC is a tough and durable all weather flat pedal shoe. It uses weather-repellent materials and a protective cover to keep your feet dry, comfortable and safe. It has a PU coated leather upper with an added durable weather-repellent coating for moisture resistance and easy cleaning. The $140 shoe’s laces are protected with a large Velcro cover for an additional barrier against moisture, mud and debris.

Sam Hill Impact

Sam Hill Impact

The Sam Hill Impact was designed with input from the World Cup champion to improve this existing flat pedal shoe for clipless like control with the nimbleness of a flat. It uses their sticky Stealth S1 outsole to adhere to the flat pedal pegs and a PU midsole for a good combination of stiffness and flex. The $160 shoe uses a fast-drying synthetic upper and a waterproof midsole to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
