Interbike 2015 – Ergon SMA3 and SMC4 Saddles and Laser Lemon Colors

by Brian Mullin on October 16, 2015

SMA3 All-Mountain Saddles

Ergon has two new saddles for this coming season including the SMA3 All Mountain with added padding and the plush and super comfortable SMC4. They also have the Laser Lemon color scheme for the GE1/GE1 Slim and SME3-S/SME3-M saddles.

SMA3 All-Mountain Saddles

The new SMA3 saddle is based off their enduro and race oriented mountain bike models with additional padding for increased comfort and all day use. It retains the same basic shape as the SME3 saddle along with the thicker padding and an anti-friction coating for increased mobility and maneuverability on the saddle. It has their usual relief channel for optimal pressure relief in the perineal area and uses closed Aircell foam for comfort that has enough stability for performance. It will come two versions, the standard SMA3-M and upscale SMA3-M Comp.

SMC4 Saddles

SMC4 Saddles

The new SMC4 is Ergon’s most comfortable and padded saddle in their mountain bike lineup. It uses Gel technology in the seating area and a 9mm deep relief channel down the center creating a raised platform for your soft tissue or sensitive nether region areas. A larger seat surface area offers optimal pressure distribution for the sit and pubic bones for greater comfort and relief. It has a soft, and plush feeling to it surface without being overly squishy. I see this as being the saddle that will be ideal for bikepacking, ultra-long days, and marathon racing. The saddle comes in three models: SMC4-M, SMC4-M Sport Gel, and SMC4-M Comp Gel.

Laser Lemon Grips

GE1 and GE1 Slim Laser Lemon Grips

They’re coming out with some products in a bright Laser Lemon color ways including the GE1 and GE1 Slim grips, and the SME3-S and SME3-M saddles. The enduro GE1 and the GE1 Slim grips are made from real rubber. The GE1 Slim is dual density rubber and has a slightly slimmer cut than the GE1 for better bar feel, and they both retail for $34.99.
