Fresh Produce – Park Tools Multi-Tool, Schwalbe NN 27.5+ and Honey Stinger Gluten Free Waffle

by Brian Mullin on March 18, 2016

In for some testing and reviewing, four new multi-tools from Park Tools the MT-10, MT-20, MT-30 and  MT-40, Schwalbe Nobby Nic 27.5+ tires in 2.8″ and 3″ widths, and some delicious Honey Stinger Gluten Free Organic Waffles in three flavors.

Park Tools Multi-Tools

For the 2016 season, Park Tools came out with four new multi-tools, covering the gamut of a light and small five piece unit all the way up to a sturdy ten piece one. They use the typical blue coloring and meet the usual well-built and high-quality Park standards.

The MT-10, MT-20, MT-30, and MT-40 are a high quality folding take-along tool that features forged aluminum side plates, a mix of hardened and plated tools, and smooth ergonomic operation. They use an innovative 5mm hex tool that has a slider that converts it into an 8mm. I am looking forward to trying each of them out in the field though I’ll likely use the Mack Daddy MT-40 since it has a chain tool, which is pretty essential IMHO.

  • MT-20 : 3, 4, 5 and 8mm hex wrenches, T25 Torx compatible driver, Combo cross/straight tip screwdriver, CO2 cartridge inflator adaptor, 95g

I’ll be installing a 2.8-inch NN in the rear and a 3.0-inch in the front on my Ibis HD3 once the Boost/Plus Retrofit swingarm kit arrives. Then I’ll have a full-blown Plus sized bike to test everything on! I am looking forward to trying out the NN Plus sized tires on my local terrain and see how they work.

Honey Stinger Gluten Free Organic Waffles

Late last summer Honey Stinger unveiled the first ever Gluten Free Organic Stroopwafel, and they’re now available at your local store and online.

The traditional stroopwafel originated over 200 years ago in the Netherlands and was a waffle made from two thin layers of baked batter with a syrup filling. Honey Stinger’s version uses organic honey and other organic ingredients rather than syrup, making Stinger Waffles certified USDA Organic. The Honey Stinger Gluten Free Waffles are available now for $1.49 each or a 16 pack box for $23.84 and come in three flavors, Cinnamon, Salted Caramel, and Maple.

“We developed the line of Gluten Free Waffles in response to our most frequent customer request—to meet the nutritional needs of those avoiding gluten in training or dietary restrictions while maintaining the great taste of our original Stinger Waffles,” says Jennifer Shea, Honey Stinger national sales manager.

Initial Taste Test

The Gluten Free Organic Stinger Waffles are delicious, and I couldn’t tell any difference between their standard product and these. I am happy this product came out since I missed getting to eat their waffles after being diagnosed with Celiacs a couple of years ago. Here is one of their mouth watering quotes about my favorite flavor, Salted Caramel: “A thin layer of honey infused with delicious salted caramel sandwiched between two thin waffles. The gluten free all-time classic flavor of caramel combined with honey and a touch of salt will satisfy your taste buds and keep you going for an afternoon snack, during your favorite activity or go great with your cup of coffee or tea. Certified Gluten Free.” Yummy!

Gluten free flour blend (organic rice flour, organic potato starch, organic tapioca flour), organic palm fruit oil, organic brown rice syrup, organic cane sugar, organic eggs, organic soy flour, organic honey, sea salt, natural flavors, organic cinnamon, baking soda, soy lecithin.
