Stan’s Rolled Gold is a premium tubeless sealant purpose-built for high-pressure road and gravel tires. Rolled Gold’s new, lower-viscosity formula is paired with 100% natural latex rather than synthetic alternatives, giving it improved adhesion to rubber and tires’ casing fibers that synthetic latex can’t match — and because it isn’t derived from petro-chemicals, it’s a more sustainable choice, too. Combined with a high-latex, high (but small) particle content, the formula is built for both speed and reliability.

HOW IT WORKS

When a tire is punctured, the sudden pressure differential drives Rolled Gold’s latex solution toward the opening at speed. The rapid pressure change across the puncture — similar to hydrodynamic cavitation — causes latex spheres in the sealant to burst almost instantly. Rolled Gold’s high-latex formula puts more of those spheres to work at the puncture site, while its high (but small) particle content accelerates abrasion and further bursting, building a physical plug fast, even across larger slices.

Long-chain latex polymers then grab onto the tire-casing fibers, anchoring the plug in place before it cures into a permanent, cross-linked seal when exposed to outside air — all while Rolled Gold’s lower-volume fill keeps rotating mass down.

That performance starts with the latex itself. Rolled Gold uses 100% natural latex rather than synthetic alternatives — its higher molecular weight forms longer polymer chains, giving it greater tensile strength and stronger adhesion to rubber and casing fibers than synthetic latex can match. Natural latex is also less brittle once cured, so it’s less prone to crumbling and breaking down over the life of the tire — an advantage synthetics still haven’t been able to replicate. It’s a more sustainable choice, too: natural latex is plant-derived and renewable, with rubber trees acting as carbon sinks, versus synthetic latex’s petrochemical origins – plus our latex is sustainably sourced, meeting EUDR standards for being deforestation-free.

Rolled Gold doesn’t replace Stan’s other sealants — it performs better for high-performance road riding. Stan’s Original remains the dependable, versatile choice for everyday riding across disciplines, delivering trusted protection at a slightly more accessible price point, though its higher-volume fill adds weight and isn’t optimized for the higher pressures road and gravel riders run. Race Day is engineered with a higher quantity of larger latex particles for maximum puncture protection in the most demanding conditions, but that particle size prevents it from being injected through the valve, adding weight and an extra installation step most road and gravel riders don’t need. Rolled Gold is purpose-built for the space in between: engineered specifically for higher-pressure road and gravel tires, it seals just as well or better than Stan’s other sealants while requiring less sealant, keeping wheels lighter without asking riders to compromise on reliability.

Short Sleeve Explorer Shirt in Flora Azul

With the Explorer line of tops, SHREDLY continues to innovate in the crossover space of athletic and leisure wear. I tried the Explorer shirt in the short-sleeve version and found it easily fell into both categories in a stylish yet functional way. This lightweight, quick-drying shirt plays really well on the trail whether you’re traveling by foot or bike. I wore it for both road riding and mountain biking and loved it in both scenarios, and I imagine I would love it equally well for hiking. No need to change out of this piece when you’re done with the sweaty fun. You will look good in it for social hour too.

Although not fitted in the traditional road bike jersey way, the Explorer shirt doesn’t flip-flop around when you’re riding. The fabric is quite soft, which translates to a quiet ride. With a tiny bit of stretch, the shirt follows your movements and feels like it’s actually not even there. You really don’t notice it! In trying to understand why the shirt fits so comfortably, I noticed in SHREDLY’s description that the sleeves are a dolman design. AI—please tell me what that means. “A dolman sleeve (also called a batwing sleeve) is a style of sleeve cut as one piece with the main bodice.” Aha, no weird seams translate to comfort and ease of movement.

Another factor that makes this shirt so comfortable is the lightweight fabric that dries quickly, even in humid conditions. I wore it riding the damp trails of Michigan’s north woods, and the shirt was dry by the time I loaded my bike on the car. So, yes, I did keep the shirt on for the post-ride festivities. The Flora Azul color choice is fabulous, flowery, and flirty. Love love. It also doesn’t show dirt, so yes, please.

The Explorer shirt is also available in Dottie, featuring pale blue dots on a raspberry background. Super cute. SHREDLY also sells a cropped version in Flora Sol, Ink, and Heidi and a long-sleeved version in Midnight Denim. All styles in all sizes, as is SHREDLY’s way, so you have seven sizes to choose from ranging from XS to 3X.

Although you won’t find road bike jersey pockets in the back, you will find a zippered pocket along the lower backside that is actually reasonably sized to hold even a small container of sunscreen. The collar protects your neck from the sun’s damage and is also stiff enough to maintain its shape. A breast pocket gives the shirt a polished look, as does the small sleeve cuff. The long sleeve version has two snaps at the cuff, a snap front closure, and a fancy way to pop up the collar with a snap tab.

I found this shirt well made and flattering yet durable and functional. I plan to take it to Albania on a bike trip this fall. I can tell I’ll be able to wash it out in the sink in the evening and wear it the next day. And the next. And the next.

Leadville, CO (August 15, 2026): Keegan Swenson and Melisa Rollins triumph in the 2026 edition of the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik. Swenson storms to sixth-straight win while Rollins is crowned Queen of Leadville for the second time in her career.

Keegan Swenson beat Matthew Wilson to the line in a close two-up sprint after a tactical masterclass. Though Swenson held the lead at mile 42 approaching the Columbine climb, Wilson stayed close with the chase and caught him. After the descent, a seven-rider lead group formed, including John Gaston (who is not part of the Life Time Grand Prix Series), Bradyn Lange, Cole Paton, Simon Pellaud, Andreas Seewald, Swenson, and Wilson.

Gaston and Swenson went clear of the group at mile 86, establishing a one-minute, 48-second gap, but were ultimately brought back by Lange and Wilson, who joined the now-leading group of four riders.

Wilson put in the final attack of the day, taking Swenson clear of the group and going to the line with the six-time champion. Behind them, Lange edged Gaston to the line for third and fourth, respectively, with Andreas Seewald crossing the line shortly after to take fifth place.

In the women’s race, Cecily Decker showcased her strength early on, taking the lead alongside Sarah Lange over Carter Summit. Behind her, a chasing group featuring Hayley Preen, Lauren Stephens, and Alexis Skarda chased a one-minute gap. Melisa Rollins led the chase after fighting back from a crash in the opening miles.

Rollins dug deep, eventually closing the distance and catching Decker after the Columbine descent to set up a head-to-head battle for the lead. However, just as the battle for the lead intensified, Decker suffered a heartbreaking puncture, which allowed Rollins to solo to her second Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB success. Lauren Stephens secured third place, followed by Sarah Lange in fourth, with Hayley Preen rounding out the top five.

Impressions

The Glacier Insulated Travel Stack is a modular, vacuum-insulated system. It includes a powder-coated stainless steel insulated sleeve, an 11 oz leak-proof food container, two 5 oz leak-proof containers, and a flexible silicone carry handle. The system allows you to configure it for hot meals, snacks, or cold drinks. You can skip the food containers and place two chilled 12-oz beverage cans in the insulated sleeve, which will keep them cold for the better part of a day. I really like the system’s adaptability: you can tightly nest the internal jars or remove them to fit two 12-oz cans. The plastic food containers or jars have silicone sealing rings for a secure, leakproof closure. The rings have integrated pull-tabs for easy removal, thorough cleaning, and mold prevention. I mostly used the Glacier Insulated Travel Stack to carry snacks to outdoor festivals and, occasionally, to keep soda cold if I wasn’t bringing a cooler. The jars work perfectly for nuts, gummies, fruit, chips, etc., and they prevent their contents from getting damaged. With a 3.5″ x 3.4″ x 10.8″ size and 20.5 oz weight, it was quite portable and easy to toss into a pack, vehicle, or wagon.
