Gloves – Gordini Endeavor, Gordini Stash Lite and SealSkinz Dragon Eye Trail

by Brian Mullin on March 17, 2017

Gordini is usually known for the ski lineup of gloves, but they offer a slew of cooler weather gloves, including the comfy and warm Endeavor, along with the lightweight and highly packable Stash Lite. The SealSkinz Dragon Eye Trail is a summer glove that is stock full of features that make a highly functional glove.

Gordini Endeavor Gloves

The touch screen-capable Gordini Endeavor Gloves will keep in the heat without adding bulk. The four-way stretch shell has a cozy pile fleece backer for comfort next to the skin, and the three-layer thermal ply waterproof/windproof/breathable fabric trim adds protection from foul weather. It comes in a Men’s and Women’s model in small, medium, large and x-large sizes, one color and retails for $35.

Thoughts => The Endeavor is quite comfy due to the inner back pile fleece lining and stretchy material. Moderate amounts of water and snow bead up on the top of the glove making them ideal for inclement weather conditions. Small and light they’ll make a great glove to toss into your pack for three season coverage, though they’ll be outside their zone for the coldest of days.

Specs

  • Four-way stretch ripstop shell.
  • Cozy pile fleece back.
  • Breathe weave stretch woven fabric overlay.
  • Three-layer thermal ply waterproof/windproof/breathable fabric trim.
  • Digital grip palm, thumb and finger patches.
  • Stretch cuff.
  • Touch screen capable.

Gordini Stash Lite Touchscreen Glove

The Gordini Stash Lite Touchscreen Gloves are made with an ultra lightweight and packable ripstop shell and have a woven nylon palm and spandex cuff. This glove is a great alternative to fleece gloves and offers InSilk insulation and a Hydrowick lining for breathability, comfort, and protection from the elements. Silicone grip palm and touch screen fingertips let you use touch sensitive screen devices without removing your gloves. The easily stash into stuff pockets on cuff for storage. It comes in a Men’s and Women’s model in small, medium, large and x-large sizes, a slew of fun colors and retails for $35.

Thoughts => The Stash Lite have been my go-to glove for almost a year now, and they’re comfortable and lightweight. The pull tab makes the easy to pull on, and the Silicone grippers on the palm keep your hands from slipping the bike grips. For those cooler days and when you’re out in the late evening, they’ll keep your hands warm without any overheating issues. They’re light and compact, making it easy to stuff into a pack or rear pocket, so you’ll always have them for emergency warmth.

SealSkinz Dragon Eye Trail Gloves

A lightweight, flexible and close fitting single layer glove offers maximum feel, dexterity and ultimate control making it a great trail glove suitable for all types of riding. It comes in small, medium, large and x-large sizes, and three color schemes and retails for $58.

Thoughts => The Dragon Eye Trail are sort of an oddity for SealSkinz since they’re a summer glove that isn’t waterproof and windproof, which is typical for the UK company (its wet there). What you do get is a glove with a slew of functional features like articulated fingers, a large Suede wiper on the thumb, knuckle guards, a thumb crotch for dexterity and touchscreen fingertips. I like the massive sweat and snot wiper on the thumb and the pre-curved fingers with their integrated articulation slits on top by the knuckles. They’re sort of pricey, and the pull tab seemed useless. Otherwise, the Dragon Eye Trail are a sweet set of gloves.

Specs

  • Highly durable and super lightweight synthetic suede palm for ultimate control and wear resistance
  • Close-fitting, pre-curved fingers, laminated stretch material on back of hand for added dexterity
  • Articulated knuckle area for increased range of movement
  • Debossed Neoprene back panel for enhanced durability
  • Tricot Suede wiper on thumb for a multitude of uses
  • Extended thumb crotch design for greater dexterity giving increased grip and control
  • PU laminated back panel and fingers provide an additional layer of protection
  • Rubber pull tab making it easier to get on
  • Silicone print on index, middle fingers, and thumb for increased grip
  • Conductive stitching on index finger and thumb allows use of touchscreen devices
