Sea Otter 2018 – Osprey Packs

Seral

The Seral is a lumbar styled pack with a 7-liter capacity and a 1.5-liter hydration reservoir. The bag offers an easy access zippered main compartment with an internal tool organization system and dual zippered hipbelt pockets. On the front, it has bungee loops so that you carry additional apparel as required. The pack provides a direct access zip path to the reservoir compartment. As with typical Osprey products, its full of features and is highly functional.

It uses their Airscape Lumbar backpanel that has features an extra thick ridged foam design with central air channels for ventilation and breathability, all of which provide the utmost in comfort and conformability.

It utilizes the Hydrapak Hydraulics 1.5L lumbar reservoir that has two buttons on each side to help it bend and conform around the back and assist with its compression and load stabilization.

The reservoir’s bite valve tube attaches on either side of the hipbelt with a magnetic connection system. It comes in three colors, Molten Red, Slate Blue and Obsidian Black and retails for $85.

Savu

The Savu is also a lumbar styled pack with a 4-liter capacity and shares many of the same features and functionality as the Seral, but doesn’t utilize a hydration reservoir.

Besides the smaller sizing, it provides the ability to carry two water bottles (or beer) on the sides in integrated sleeves, that offer easy access when a drink is required. When you aren’t going to use bottles, the pockets/sleeves compress down to help maintain stability and keep the pack pushed up into your back. It comes in three colors, Molten Red, Slate Blue and Obsidian Black and retails for $55.

Pack Lineup

On their main pack line (Raptor/Raven, Syncros/Sylva), they have upgraded their shoulder straps. The new Biostretch harness system has a bike-specific winged shoulder strap shape that offers improved comfort and stability, plus it pulls it in closer to your body.

They have also upgraded and tweaked their always useful tool roll.

Raptor and Raven Series

This series of premium mountain bike pack offer purpose-built features to keep you moving on the trail. Should you flat, crash or bank, smart access to dedicated storage pockets gets you back in the saddle faster. This pack has it all, including their LidLock helmet attachment system, and a full-face helmet carrying capabilities, a Hydraulics LT 2.5L Reservoir and a roll-out tool pouch for pre-ride adjustments or post-crash fixes.

The packs feature the Airscape suspension system and backpanel for comfort, excellent ventilation, and load stabilization and the Airmesh wraparound hipbelt. The Raven is the women’s specific version of this series. Both packs come in 10 and 14-liter sizes, three colors and retail for $140 and $150 respectively.

Syncro and Sylva Series

Both packs come in three colors, the Syncros come in 5, 12 and 20-liter sizes for $120, $130 and $150, while the Sylva comes in 5 and 12-liter for $120 and $130.
