SRAM‘s new NX Eagle 12-speed group includes an 11-50 tooth cassette, a rear derailleur, a chain, and shifter. Like it’s predecessor, the 11-speed NX 11-42T, the new NX Eagle cassette fits a standard splined freehub body and can be used with an entire slew of non-XD wheel systems. To make the cassette fit on a splined system they had to forgo the smaller 10-tooth cog, but the 11-50T still offers a wide 454 percent gear ratio, compared to the other Eagle versions (GX, X01, and XX1) 500 percent. All of the NX Eagle components got the trickle-down technology from it’s pricier brethren, but the slightly less refined material and build quality allows the entire group to come in at an affordable $375. Although the cassette has an 11-50T gearing and will only work on splined hubs, the rest of the group, including the rear derailleur, chain, and shifter are all compatible with 11-50T and 10-50T setups.
