Introducing Dominion A4. Hayes latest Four Piston Brake system for Trail, Enduro, Downhill and eBike applications.

Making power is easy. Making power with the right feel, that was our challenge.

We did this by creating an all-new system. Dominion incorporates several technologies, designed together to deliver the best feel and control possible: LoFi, Two-Stroke, KingPin, Crosshair, Modal Resonance Cancelation (MRC) and QuickBite².

Dominion’s master cylinder is factory tuned for the shorted dead stroke possible and a crisp bite point. LoFi means LO Input force / HI Fidelity Output force. To the rider, this equals a low-effort system and minimized dead stroke. Dominion has a clearly detectable ramp up at initial pad contact, followed by steadily increasing effort for the remaining lever stroke. The result is predictable, progressive control.

The Dominion A4 caliper utilizes four pistons in the most structurally rigid design and is the stiffest caliper Hayes has ever made, in part due to its structural pad retention pin – KingPin.  It features Two-Stroke, a dual bleed port system for maximum bleed integrity. Additionally, Hayes integrated its patented caliper alignment system, Crosshair.

With a motorsports-inspired Two-Stroke dual port bleed system, industry-leading DOT5.1 fluid and Kevlar hose, the hydraulic system is engineered for ultimate performance and easy maintenance. Dominion A4 used DOT 5.1 fluid – the most regulated and highest performance brake fluid on the planet.

dominion_rotors

Dominion A4 features the proprietary QuickBite² system for fast and consistent burnish, coupled with our D-Series rotor to manage the heat, with less braking noise.

The all-new D-Series rotor incorporates proprietary Modal Resonance Cancelation (MRC) and QuickBite² technology.  Noise and vibration are canceled out via MRC, translating into more consistent braking.  QuickBite² technology offers riders the shortest path to high performance, with fast, consistent and quiet burnish.  The result is a predictable performance.

Hayes is confident in the durability of all of the hydraulic brakes we produce, standing behind them with a conditional Lifetime Leakproof Warranty.

Technologies:

  • Crosshair Caliper Alignment System – Dramatically simplifies caliper installment and alignment
    • Patented Crosshair caliper alignment screws
    • Allows mechanics and end users to quickly and accurately set brake caliper with no rubbing of the rotor on the pads
    • Eliminates guesswork and trial and error
    • Makes set up process quick and easy for ‘out of the box’ build
  • KingPin – Structural caliper pad pin
  • LoFi (Low input / High Fidelity) – Speaks to the overall system feel. MC dead stroke tech / cam profile / feel
  • MRC (Modal Resonance Cancelation) – Rotor harmonic design
    • All objects have a resonant frequency
    • The FEA-optimized modal shapes of D-Series rotors is intentionally designed to oppose that of Semi-Met T106 and Sintered T100 pads; this cancels out noise and vibration translating into a more consistent braking
    • 95mm material thickness enhances heat dissipation
  • QuickBite² – Offers riders the shortest path to high performance
    • Fast, consistent burnish
    • Predictable performance
    • Quiet
  • Two Stroke – Dual caliper bleed ports for maximum bleed integrity
