GRAYL, the brand that reinvigorated the water purification category, introduces GRAYL GEOPRESS, a next-generation purifier that quickly cleans even the sketchiest of water for travelers, adventurers, and survivalists. Designed for use on all seven continents, GEOPRESS purifies and filters 24 ounces of water in just eight seconds (5L/min), nearly twice as fast as any other purifier.

Unrivaled in speed, ease-of-use, and versatility, GEOPRESS provides complete protection from all waterborne pathogens (virus, bacteria, protozoan cysts) plus chemicals, heavy metals, and even microplastics. Fill. Press. Drink.

It only takes three simple and easy steps to purify a water source:

  1. Fill the Outer Refill cup at any stream, lake, sketchy tap, hotel sink, or bathroom and insert the Inner Press/Purifier Cartridge system until it engages.
  2. Turn the SimpleVent cap’s arrow to its green dot position for venting, and press downward on the top Drink Cap with body weight utilizing its SoftPress Pads.
  3. Drink clean, purified water, anywhere.

“International travelers rely almost exclusively on single-use bottles for daily hydration – which are expensive, wasteful and almost never recycled. Until now, no travel purifier has rivaled the convenience of buying a single-use bottle at a corner store,” said Travis Merrigan, GRAYL Co-founder, and Product Director. “GEOPRESS addresses that need. It requires no setup, it’s easy to use, and provides complete protection against impurities that make travelers sick, including waterborne viruses.”

“GEOPRESS is our pinnacle achievement,” said Scott Rolfson, GRAYL Brand Director. “It provides a user experience that’s second to none; adventure travelers are going to be ecstatic.”

Features

Packed with innovative features, GEOPRESS delivers unrivaled results. Its SimpleVent™ cap allows air to escape while ‘pressing’ and protects against cross-contamination. SoftPress™ pads and TopoGrip™ provide an ergonomic ‘pressing and purification’ experience that is comfortable, and non-slip in any environment.

  • TopoGrip™ technology and strategically placed it on all heavy-use surfaces needing to be grasped. It’s non-slip, tactile, durable and really grippy in the heat, cold and when wet.
  • The SimpleVent™ Spout Cap allows you to ‘press and purify’ water with the cap on. It keeps the spout clean and protects clean water from the threat of cross-contamination (when near dirty water). During the purification process, simply twist the SimpleVent cap 1/2 turn to allow for air to escape (Note: beta version shown used only a quarter turn).

First Impressions of Pre-Production Model

I love the new SimpleVent screw cap since it makes pushing the Inner Press/Purifier Cartridge through water-filled Outer Refill container much easier due to its venting capabilities when in the open position, plus drinking out of the GEOPRESS is much more pleasant and straightforward with the small pour spout when the cap is unscrewed. The new SoftPress pads surface is wide and comfortable, allowing for easier pressing of the top drink cap to filter the water. It extends outward making for quicker and less effort during pushing, plus the two finger handle provides something to hold onto while carrying and allows it to be clipped to something if desired. The new tacky TopoGrip material offers a secure hold when gripping the sides and while pressing on the top, and the 24-ounce capacity is perfect for any outing where you’ll need water. The GEOPRESS is a phenomenal portable water purifier that will be at home across all seven continents of the world, on any backpack trips, hiking, and traveling, and its larger capacity and new features add significantly to its highly functional capabilities to provide safe and clean drinking water. Fill, Press and Drink.

Purifier Cartridge

Electroadsorptive Purification

The filter is powered by a patented electroadsorptive media capable of removing submicron pathogens and inorganic contaminants. When pressing water through the filter, electroadhesion and ion exchange create a powerful submicron trap for pathogens (viruses, bacteria, and protozoan cysts). Additionally, the purifier media contains many embedded layers of ultra-powdered activated carbon which create a large surface area for removing toxins like chemicals and heavy metals. Silver treated zeolites, a natural antimicrobial, inhibit growth and keeps the purifier fresh between uses.
