Muc-Off recently released their No Puncture Hassle Tubeless Sealant that is highly effective, long-lasting, biodegradable with a UV puncture detector.

Muc-Off’s new No Puncture Hassle Tubeless Sealant is not only super easy to use, but it’s made from cutting-edge microfiber molecules and advanced latex that form a secure seal instantly in even the most brutal race conditions—a formula developed with the help of the world’s top downhillers and pro peloton teams.

Installation

Remove your bikes tubeless valve core from the wheel with their tool from the kit or use your personal home/shop tool if you just bought the separate pouch. Like most any sealant, give the bag a good shake and turn it upside a few times to get everything mixed properly.

Note: if you don’t have a removable valve core, use the kit’s scoop to add the required amount of sealant.

Turn the wheel so that the valve is at 12 o’clock. Open the cap on the sealant and push the pouch over the valve.

Rotate the wheel to the 6 o’clock position keeping the pouch securely pushed onto the valve and give the bag a good squeeze until the desired amount of sealant is added to the tire. I was adding the sealant to a set of 27.5″ x 2.8″ tires, so I squeezed in the entire 140ml amount. So that the residual contents don’t dribble out, rotate the wheel to 12 o’clock and remove the pouch and reinstall the valve core. Spin the tire and shake it back forth, making sure to get the sealant coated on the inside of the tire. I tend to spin and shake and lay it on one side on the top of a trash can and let it sit for a couple of minutes and repeat the same steps for the other side.

Impressions

When you get any decent size puncture in your tubeless tire, you’ll see the tubeless sealant doing its duty, and its dayglo pink color provides an obvious highlight to where the trouble is happening. It does an excellent job of sealing puncture up to a quarter inch (6mm), lasts for six months and works in a broad range of temperatures from 122°F to -4°F. It’s compatible with tubeless-ready and full UST wheels/tires, and it works from 15psi to 120psi.

The sealant is biodegradable, non-corrosive, contains no ammonia and easily washes off with water. I much appreciated that there was no nasty ammonia in the mixture and that the bright pinkness and somewhat slightly tacky sealant washed off with water without leaving any residue.

Where their sealant sets itself apart from the competition is the reflective UV detection dye that has been added to the mixture, which helps highlight smaller punctures and slow leaking issues happening on the carcass of the tire that usually isn’t very discernable. Just shine their UV Torch from their kit or a use a black light over your tire, and you can see any sealant working its way to the outside/surface of the tire.

The kit has a useful attachment system, so you carry their valve core tool on the main valve body utilizing two simple rubber o-ring. It does decrease the usable height of the valve, which it might be problematic on tall carbon rims, buts it simple to take on and off when pumping up a tire.

Bottom Line

Installing the sealant was simple and mess-free: remove valve core, shake pouch, rotate tire to 12:00, slide on the bag, rotate to 6:00, squeeze in the sealant, remove pouch, install valve core, shake tire to coat the interior of the tire, ride. The dayglo pink sealant is tacky and slightly thick and adheres well to the inside of the tire and seals punctures up to a quarter inch without any issues. The sealants UV detection dye highlights smaller punctures and pinpricks that can be seen utilizing their UV Torchlight. In a crowded market of tubeless tire sealants the Muc-Off No Puncture Hassle Tubeless Sealant sets itself apart with some unique features, and it does an excellent job of sealing up punctures.

I live in Tacoma, Washington, a very wet part of the state. Will this still seal a leak on wet roads in mud puddles and a generally wet environment/pouring rain.

Ronald,
I would think so since Muc-Off was thoroughly tested in the miserable wet UK type of weather.
