Floyd’s of Leadville has just added a 1800mg concentration to their line of CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum tinctures, both of which join their existing 600mg and 1200mg versions of each product. Just as with Floyd’s other CBD products, the Isolate tincture contains zero THC or other non-CBD cannabinoids, making it safe for people concerned with CBD and drug testings or those with extreme THC sensitivity. Note, the Full Spectrum contains trace amounts of THC (.1 to .3%).

The expanding lineup is interesting in light of the new farm bill which legalizes hemp production at the Federal level, superseding state pilot programs and paving the way for massive hemp industry expansion. Floyd’s of Leadville is entering this new market reality as an established leader and is poised to reap the benefits of expanded production and distribution of CBD hemp oil products, as well as greater opportunity for the scientific study of CBD.

The benefits of their CBD products, whether tinctures, softgels, creams, or protein recovery powder, helps athletes deal with aches and pains, injury recovery and surgeries. The CBD ingredient offered relief, decreased soreness, pain alleviation, and overall relaxation after a hard day of hammering on the bike. Plus it has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties.

Floyd’s 1800mg Tincture Now Available in Full Spectrum Version

Leading Hemp Oil CBD purveyor Floyd’s of Leadville is now offering CBD tincture in a potent 1800mg concentration. The 1800mg tincture is everything you’ve come to expect from Floyd’s: organic, grown and manufactured in Colorado, Non-GMO, CO2 extracted goodness, just in a more refined version.

Each 1 oz. bottle of the new 1800mg Tincture contains (30) 60mg doses of full-spectrum CBD, perfect for those who’ve found CBD most effective at increased dosages.

What is Full Spectrum?

In addition to the active plant CBD compound, Floyd’s of Leadville Full Spectrum CBD products contain small amounts of other Cannabinoids, providing a synergistic effect, supplementing and enhancing the benefits of CBD. This enhanced benefit has been widely recognized and has its own name – the “Entourage Effect.” The CBD extraction process involved for Full Spectrum products results in small amounts of Cannabinoids including CBC, CBG and a trace amount of THC. Floyd’s of Leadville also offers CBD Isolate products (100% CBD) for users with high THC sensitivity or those who wish to avoid trace THC intake for other reasons.

With the introduction of the 1800mg full-spectrum CBD tincture, the Floyd’s of Leadville CBD tincture line now offers both Full-Spectrum and Isolate versions at 3 different concentrations- 600, 1200 and 1800mg.

Floyd’s Most Concentrated CBD Isolate Tincture Ever

Floyd’s of Leadville’s CBD tincture is now available in a potent new 1800mg Isolate concentration. The 1800mg Isolate tincture is everything you’ve come to expect from Floyd’s: organic, grown and manufactured in Colorado, Non-GMO, CO2 extracted goodness, now in a more refined version with a little added gusto in each bottle.

Each 1 oz. bottle of the new 1800mg Isolate Tincture contains (30) 60mg doses of CBD– perfect for those who’ve found isolated CBD most effective at increased dosages.

“Iso-what now?” Good question. Using a CO2 extraction process that filters out all THC and residual cannabinoids, Floyd’s of Leadville Isolate tinctures contain only purified CBD.

Why’s that important? Well, in contrast to Full Spectrum CBD; which contains trace amounts of THC, Isolates contain zero THC making them safe for people concerned with drug testing, or with heightened sensitivity to trace amounts of THC. In addition to the 1800mg bottle, 600mg and 1200mg isolate tinctures are now in stock at Floydsofleadville.com.

The Science of CBD Oil

Functional Pain Relief and Inflammation With Few Side Effects

When former pro cyclist Floyd Landis launched the company Floyd’s of Leadville in 2016, CBD oil wasn’t quite the household name it is today. Popular reaction to the news that Floyd’s would be selling cannabis-related products revealed a huge gap of understanding between the extract’s intended effects—pain and anxiety relief—and the mind-altering effects of marijuana with THC. No, Landis was not dealing drugs—and no, CBD oil on its own will not get you high or give you a buzz. But is it true that; as claimed, it can make your post-ride aches go away?
Landis’ own story would suggest that it can. After too many crashes led to a hip replacement at age 31, he turned first to alcohol and opioids and then to the gentler non-addictive pain relief offered by CBD. Eventually, Landis found his way out of the darkness of chronic pain to rediscovering his enjoyment of life—a journey he credits to the hemp extract’s therapeutic benefits.
Still, in its infancy, early research on CBD oil has thus far supported Landis’ claims. Animal studies have shown it to be significantly effective in reducing the effects of arthritis. Human studies have shown that it can be effective in treating anxiety and inflammations. A 2011 blind study of people suffering from social anxiety showed that participants given CBD oil and asked to give a speech to a large group reported significantly lower anxiety compared to those who were given a placebo before speaking. Other studies have found potential in CBD oil’s use as an anti-inflammatory. That’s good news for Landis’ company and the growing CBD industry, now worth more than $200 million. Already expressly legal in many states (and occupying a murky but largely accepted legality in most others), CBD’s popularity continues to rise in correlation with the overall rise in popularity of legalized marijuana in general. According to an October 2017 Gallup survey, sixty-four percent of Americans, including a majority of both Republicans and Democrats, are ready to legalize cannabis products.
So there’s clear evidence that the masses want it, as well as evidence to suggest it’s effective, though researchers are currently conducting large-scale clinical trials to confirm this. The next question you’re probably asking is: “How does it work?”
This can get a bit complicated, but it will help in differentiating between primarily hemp-extracted CBD and THC. Cannabinoids are a class of chemical compounds found in many plants, including the cannabis plant, that interacts with receptors in our cells and alters the release of brain chemicals. Whereas THC interacts with receptors to produce a psychoactive effect that leads to that doped-out high feeling, CBD bypasses those receptors in the endocannabinoid system and instead activates or inhibits other compounds there, including THC. Not only can CBD counteract some of the cognitive effects of THC, but it can also inhibit the system that breaks down another cannabinoid, called anandamide, that boosts feelings of happiness. It can also limit other receptors that cause inflammation and muscle soreness after an injury or a tough ride.
CBD offers all of these benefits as well as something most drugstore pain relievers don’t. It’s entirely naturally-derived, though lack of FDA regulation means customers need to do their due diligence when sourcing CBD products. Reputable CBD product sources like Floyd’s of Leadville provide lab testing data so consumers can verify the CBD content of their products.
Full Spectrum vs. Isolate: When a CBD product is described as “full spectrum,” it means the CBD contains all the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, including THCN, CBN, and CBG—and even trace amounts of THC (up to .3%). CBD Isolate products are entirely free of other cannabinoids and THC-free. Full-spectrum CBD has been shown by one study on mice to be more effective than CBD Isolate at providing pain relief; however, CBD Isolate is probably the best option for anyone subjected to testing for THC.

With so many benefits and significantly lower drawbacks than traditional pain and inflammation management drugs, it’s easy to see why amateur and professional athletes were ditching ibuprofen and anti-inflammatories for CBD.
