G3

G3 has the innovative new FINDr ski with magnetic contact points, the AXLE splitboards, and the lightweight MINIMIST skins.

G3 FINDr Skis

Innovative Design. Uncompromised Performance.

At G3 we are proud to be Canadian, and the new FINDr is a product of our heritage. Made in Canada, the new FINDr is uncompromising in performance with weight and feature set ski mountaineers and backcountry skiers to dream of using. New to the ISPO Gold Winner FINDr series are magnetic contact points, making boot pack transitions quick and easy, and eliminating the need for straps when shouldering your skis. Using modern engineering and design, the weight of the new FINDr has been reduced by 20-70 grams (depending on the ski size) compared to the previous version. The FINDr is made with full carbon fiber construction and PU (polyurethane) sidewalls for best-in-class dampness with more sizing options than ever before.

Thoughts => Pretty darn cool and highly functional design. Just pick up the ski, stick them together and the magnetics clamp down with a satisfying snap, making them easy to carry around, with a secure and stable hold.

The AXLE Splitboard

Built to be as enjoyable on the way up as on the way down.

The new AXLE is not just an all-mountain snowboard cut in half.  We looked at every aspect of backcountry riding when developing the new AXLE to ensure that the climb up is just as smooth and just as fun as the ride down. The AXLE is THE one-board quiver created by backcountry splitboarders for backcountry splitboarding. Like the rest of our boards and skis, the AXLE is made with polyurethane sidewalls for best-in-class dampness. The AXLE construction consists of a carbon fiber matrix, adding torsional stiffness to the board for better edge control. And the full thickness base makes for a more durable board that will last for long term tunes. Details can make the biggest difference on a long tour. Rounded edges on the inside of the tips of the board mean you won’t snag your pants or scratch the board’s edges against one another. The AXLE is built to be playful in the turn while remaining stable in variable conditions. The longer early rise in the tip and tail allows for smearability while the slight camber underfoot maintains stability and inspires confidence at speed.

MINIMIST Skins

The Lightest & Most Packable Fully-Featured Skin In The World

Made in Canada, the new MINIMIST uses materials and techniques that have never been seen in a skin before, making them the second ISPO Gold Winner in our product lineup. Looking beyond what has traditionally been done in skin production, we explored high-performance textiles from other demanding sports applications & innovative engineering to push the limits of climbing skin performance. Every MINIMIST skin is up to 30% lighter than anything else in its performance class and can pack small enough to fit in your jacket pocket. The low-bulk materials matched with the minimalist tip and tail system create a tightly packed roll that doesn’t require any extra room in your pack. The stiff tip of the ALPINIST+ skins has proven to be effective at avoiding snow creep. To achieve the same result in the MINIMIST they feature a carbon fiber insert at the tip of each skin, creating a directionally rigid platform that prevents snow creep and extends your time in the mountains.

ESCAPIST Skin Family

Changing How We Think About the Value Skin Line

We all know what a pain it can be to fit a fully customizable climbing skin to your ski. No more. G3 has changed the way the backcountry community thinks about skins with the new ESCAPIST G3’s premium user experience and performance are now available to the value skin line. For the first time in a custom setup, the ESCAPIST features G3’s patented self-aligning stainless steel hands so you’ll get a strong connection with any ski tip shape. DAHU Modular Ski Boot

Designed in Switzerland, the DAHU boot is a ground-breaking modular design that reimagines the ski boot. It consists of a Grilamid plastic shell featuring a series of strategic cutouts, a Corsair entry and a luxurious Italian-made inner lace-up Cambium boot liner that’s unlike any ski boot liner on the market.

The DAHU company has been active in Europe for around five years, and this year they’re planning to launch in the US. The new system reminds me of a morph or cross between the two-part Apex system which uses an open chassis back shell and walkable boot and an actual normal ski boot. The DAHU uses a fancy Cambium boot liner that steps into a lightweight plastic shell that has foldout front and rear sections for easy entry and egress. And the comfortable lace-up liner boot has a rubber sole for traction and safe walking when not encased in the ski boots shell. They’ll be released in September 2019, and though they currently aren’t AT pin compatible, they might be a feature in the future?

After 22 years breaking snowboarding ground at Burton, Gundlach has found another disruptive product that he’s excited to get behind: The Dahu Swiss Ski Boot, a cutting-edge product that promises to revolutionize the industry.

Designed in Switzerland, the Dahu boot has a pivotal hinge design that totally changes the alpine ski boot. The Grilamid shell features carefully engineered cutouts eliminating pressure points and the Italian-made inner Cambium boot liner is designed for performance, warmth, and comfort. The Dahu boot introduces a precisely engineered Corsair entry system, with hinges at the front and back of the boot. The skier has two options, either step into the insulated Cambium liner, lace it up, and then simply step into the shell or leave the liner in the boot and step in, as a single unit, like a conventional Alpine setup.

Either way, Dahu boots are supremely easy to get in and out of. This innovative boot will also let skiers step out of the shell and walk around comfortably in the liner boot alone, a distinct advantage over alpine boots.

“After thousands of days on the mountain, I know what an uncomfortable boot feels like. This product has the potential to revolutionize the ski boot business,” says Gundlach. “It’s an innovation that the industry deserves. I’m excited about that. A pain-free ski experience will bring joy to every vertical foot of your day.”

Crescent Moon

Since 1997, Crescent Moon has been making snowshoes for outdoor enthusiasts who value gear performance, quality and reliability. They also make plenty of regular aluminum-framed snowshoes including six men’s models, five women-specific models, three running/race models and finally two models in smaller sizes for kids.

EVA Foam

Compared to a standard snowshoe their EVA Foam design feels like a crossbreed of a giant running shoe, a fat bike tire and a flotation device. Inspired by the feel of technical, high-cushion trail-running shoes, the Evas feature a unique rocker design, a simple velcro-like strap system, and a super soft surface under the foot. It’s a one fits all design and utilizes a dual density EVA foam deck, which provides an upper layer for cushioning and rebound and a lower layer that offers structure, abrasion resistance, and traction. The traction plate features KEYFLEX which is an abrasion resistant hard plastic that’s more durable than PEBAX. The binding system uses a reinforced rubber with 3 Velcro hook and loop over foot straps and heel strap, and the latter has an additional loop on the side of the binding to hold excess strap for smaller feet.

Luna Snowshoe

For next season they’re releasing the new Crescent Moon Luna snowshoe which is a smaller and mildly tweaked version of their standard EVA model. It’s designed for women and kids, has a 150 lbs. weight limit and a smaller footprint to make it easier for walking, maneuvering, and wearing. The Luna has more flex built into the sole along with more rocker on the toe. Note, the beta model on display had ice/hardpack spikes (dark green in the picture), but the final iteration will not.
