ASSOS Trail is an all-new collection developed with a relaxed fit and protective fabrics for adaptable comfort, streamlined construction, and trail-focused features. It includes the Trail LS and SS Jerseys, the Trail Cargo and Liner Shorts, Trail Arm and Knee Protectors, and Trail FF Gloves.
- Trim, but never restrictive. Consider the countless motions your body goes through on a given ride. Add to that your bike’s wide handlebars, a dropper post, and slack geo. They put these factors under the microscope to calibrate the perfect fit, with or without body armor.
- Eliminate the excess. No clunky buckles, webbing, or fasteners here. Pre-shaped panels of ultralight materials disappear once you start riding. Beginning with a quiver of new textiles, they only added components that enhanced the fit and overall function.
- Tough stuff for rough riding. They targeted zones prone to abrasion and impact and gave them a boost. Liner shorts feature integrated hip padding, while their jerseys and protectors are constructed with dyneRope—a burly ripstop made with a fiber that’s 15 times stronger than steel.
Trail LS Jersey
Striking the perfect balance between light protection and breathable comfort. – $149.00
Light, protective coverage on the trail is something they welcome, but it usually comes at the expense of bulky pads and extra layers. Those days are behind us, as they’ve developed a new long-sleeve trail jersey that incorporates a touch of added coverage right where you need it most.
Using their proprietary dyneRope, a densely woven armor-like textile acclaimed for its exceptional durability, they targeted the vulnerable forearm region of the jersey to help protect against tree limbs, shrubbery, and other trail hazards. They added their circular-knit Triangle textile above, which is a light, flexible material perfect for a warm-weather trail jersey. It’s tough, breathes well, and pulls moisture away from the skin so you stay fresh hammering up the trail and dry on the descent. Following this theme of airiness, they hit the underarms with their new bi-stretch 3-Mesh to keep the air moving throughout the jersey.
Because they wanted this jersey to fall on the trim side of loose, yet still be cut for the varying positions you encounter during demanding trail rides, they came away with their new trailFit. This is the real secret to their Trail line, as the versatile cut is ideal for enduro applications, flow trails, and everything in between.
It also comes in a Trail SS Jersey for $119.00.
Trail Cargo Shorts
Pair with the Trail Liner Shorts for all-mountain coverage, unrestricted comfort, and lasting support. – $149.00
The Trail Cargo Shorts take the concept of adaptable, all-mountain shorts to a new realm, made possible by streamlined tailoring and progressive materials. They’ve been developed with a waistband that smoothly holds the shorts in place, a cut that’s trim around the crotch to avoid saddle snag, a length that’s ideal with or without pads, and a versatile new fabric that flexes with each pedal stroke.
By poring over other “baggies,” they saw how their panels always bunch in odd places and the addition of fasteners, webbing, and zippers all contribute to unnecessary weight and pinching during pedaling. Their minimal approach uses an adaptable textile for the primary panels, one that’s equal parts durable and lightweight. More specifically, it’s a bi-stretch woven that’s extremely consistent in terms of composition, translating to a fast-drying, comfortable material that holds up on the trail.
With half of the shorts’ formula sorted, they put the fit under the ASSOS microscope, creating a trim top block, starting with the highly elastic waist panel for a smooth, comfortable wrap on the waist, free of any unnecessary pressure. Moving down from there, they pulled the upper legs’ circumference in on either side of the crotch to ensure your saddle can float between your legs, free of any material hang-ups. They then relaxed the lower portion of the legs and gave them a 12in inseam to be ideal with or without pads. They recommend pairing these with their Trail Liner Shorts for all-mountain coverage, unrestricted comfort, and lasting support.
Trail Liner Shorts
Blending lightweight support, comfort, and impact protection into a trail-focused first layer. – $139
Using their rallyBoxer as a template, they designed the Trail Liner Shorts using a new front panel and updated waist design to keep you comfortably supported on the trail.
They started with a new woven textile on the front, which is a high-stretch, ultrasoft material developed with breathability in mind, keeping you cool and dry when things heat up. The waist has been constructed with a tall V-shaped panel that comfortably molds to your lower abdomen while in the riding position.
We also extended the inseam for a cleaner wrap on the thighs, and strategically placed their removable impactPads at the hips for crash protection during demanding rides. Oval in shape, and constructed with 8mm-thick high-density polyurethane, these pads are optimally positioned to both protect and never impede your pedal stroke. They finished the shorts by reversing all primary stitches, eliminating chafing and friction next to your skin.
Designed to work in harmony with their Trail Cargo Shorts for the perfect lower body foundation, the Liner Shorts blend lightweight support, comfort, and impact protection into a trail-focused first layer.
Trail Arm Protectors
Lightweight, flexible arm coverage and abrasion protection for warm-weather trail rides. – $75.00
Mimicking the look and design of their favorite arm warmers, the Arm Protectors are superlight sleeves made of a tough textile for protection against abrasion. They’re the perfect option for riders who don’t want the bulk of pads, yet welcome next-to-skin coverage on the trail.
Using their proprietary dyneRope, a densely woven armor-like textile acclaimed for its exceptional durability, the sleeve-like Arm Protectors keep your vulnerable forearms shielded from errant tree limbs, shrubbery, and other trail hazards. The inner panel is constructed with PushPull, which is a soft flexible material that adds UPF50+ protection for those long, sunny days in the saddle.
It also comes in a Trail Knee Protectors version for $89.
