Osprey Soelden/Sopris Pro Packs

The Pro version of the Osprey Soelden (men’s) and Sopris (women’s) backcountry pack utilizes an Alpride E1 built-in airbag system for avalanche safety. It uses a supercapacitor technology electronic system that doesn’t use the typical canisters for its operation, making it safe for airline travel. It can charge the system from two AA batteries in 40-minutes or via its USB interface in 20. It has storage locations for a snow shovel, probe, skins, and other gear, and one side of the shoulder strap has an integrated zippered radio cord or hydration slot. It has carry options for skis, snowboards, and helmets, all of which won’t interfere with the functionality of the airbag. The Soelden has a 32-liter capacity, and Sopris has 30-liters with a women’s specific shorter torso, and they’ll retail for $1,200.
