Giro had their Grid MIPS/Envi MIPS helmets and Contour Goggle, while Bollé had the Ryft Helmet, Nevada NEO Goggle, Chronoshield Sunglasses, and LightShifter Sunglasses.
Giro Grid/Envi Helmets
Giro Sport Design new Grid MIPS (men’s) and Envi MIPS (women’s) helmets weigh in at only 400-grams. The feathery weight and MIPS protection will offer the utmost in safety, whether you’re backcountry touring or skiing inbounds. With the additional dangers of the backcountry skiing, including things such as avalanches, rocks, trees, etc., dropping the extra weight means you’re more likely to bring along a helmet, instead of leaving it at home for resort only days. It utilizes a Fidlock magnetic buckle closure that makes for pinch-free, one-handed fastening and a new earpad interface (audio compatible), elevating the helmets fit, comfort, and the ability for riders to hear their surroundings without sacrificing warmth and comfort.
They feature the MIPS Spherical Technology, which reduces linear and rotational impact energy, and addresses low- and high-speed impact energy, while still delivering unobstructed airflow. This advanced ball-and-socket system allows relative motion of the foam layers between the helmet and the head during both high-speed and low-speed impacts. It has a Polartec Power Grid Liner, which is a comfortable, warm, quick-drying liner that provides unparalleled breathability and enhanced wicking efficiency, which is particularly desirable during uphill skinning efforts.
The helmets provide exceptional breathability and airflow, and you can easily control temperatures with the Thermostat Control adjustable ventilation across sixteen strategically placed vents. Stack Vent technology aligns with the rider’s goggle venting to help keep lenses fog-free.
The Grid MIPS is offered in 8 colorways, while the Envi MIPS is offered in 7 colorways, and will retail for $280.
Giro Contour Goggle
The Giro Contour goggle was designed in tandem with ZEISS Optics and featured a new toric lens shape that provides a vast field of view, along with crisp visibility and a premium VIVID lens. The Expansion View Technology + (or EXV+) system offers an incredible field of view, while the EVAK Vent Technology and anti-fog coating prevent fogging during high-intensity efforts. A triple-layer face foam with microfleece facing provides all-day comfort and offers plenty of cushion against your face.
It comes with two, injection-molded toric VIVID lenses with Optics by ZEISS that can be quickly changed using the Quick-Change, Magnetic-Assisted Lens System.
The goggles are also OTG friendly and feature seamless integration with all Giro helmets. The Contour is offered in 13 different frame/strap designs, with up to 8 standard lens configurations, and retails for $280.
Bollé Ryft Helmet
Incorporating a new ventilation system, the Bolle Ryft features an innovative ventilation system with large holes to help facilitate improved airflow, yet it still has impressive structural strength.
On the protection front, the new Ryft includes MIPS, a game-changing technology that protects against rotational motion to the brain caused by angled impacts. The Ryft incorporates BOA’s Fit System, a 360°system providing micro-adjustability for a fully customized comfortable fit and unmatched stability. Adding another layer of comfort is the Ryft’s new comprehensive ventilation system. While most helmets feature small vents that are the result of adhering to certification tests, the fully certified Ryft includes a large air intake from vertical space around the vent opening, while the panel obstructs anything from penetrating into the headform, making the Ryft the only certified snow helmet with maximum air channeling. The RYFT also features an easy to use goggle retainer system featuring integrated grooves on the back and side of the helmet that allows users to easily lock and unlock goggles from the helmet even when you’re wearing gloves.
It has F1 inspired rear spoilers and vents for a sleek look, has pockets in the ears to hold speakers, and will retail for $300.
