Ergon Launches The GD1 Evo Series Gravity-Grips 2.0

Ergon has upgraded its GD1 Series to the GD1 Evo Series Gravity-Grips 2.0. The new “GD” or grip downhill features a super-soft thumb zone that provides improved grip while reducing the forces needed to securely hold onto the handlebars. The inner stop has been trimmed down to make hand repositioning easier and a chamfered underside provides fingers something to dig into. 

Resulting from our close cooperation with World-class Downhill Pro riders like Tahnée Seagrave, Vali Höll and Rémy Métailler the GD1 was thoroughly tested and now becomes even better as the new Ergon GD1 Evo grips.

The GD1 Evo and the GD1 Evo Factory convinces with its conical grip shape – delivering more damping on the outer edge and more grip on its slimmer inner diameter. The surface profile with a new, super-soft thumb zone provides optimal grip yet reduces the gripping forces required to hold tight. The sleek, newly designed slim inner stop improves the quick repositioning of the hand. The high-strength, aluminum inner clamp keeps the grip locked down tight even on carbon handlebars.

One special feature of the GD1 Evo Factory is its unique Factory Custom Rubber, a compound manufactured in Germany. This provides previously unknown adhesion and rebound characteristics. The grip is soft but very defined and precise.

Updated grip shape and texture for 2020! The first gravity specific grip with tapered grip shape. More damping in the outer area with a slim inner diameter. The unique rubber compound manufactured in Germany offers adhesive and rebound properties that have never been seen before in a bicycle grip. The grip feeling is soft, but still very defined and precise. The surface profile provides optimal grip and reduces the gripping force at the same time. The slim inner stop additionally improves the fast positioning of the hand. The high-strength aluminum inner clamp keeps the grip twist-proof even for carbon handlebars.
