Pearl iZUMi AmFIB Lobster Gel Glove

The iconic PEARL iZUMi Lobster Glove is the go-to glove when warmth is your biggest priority. This innovative lobster split finger glove is designed to provide a mitten warmth with enough dexterity to operate shifters and brake levers confidently. This glove uses 170g Primaloft Gold insulation with Crosscore technology for incredible warmth with minimal bulk. The main body fabric provides wind protection with easy articulation, and an Ax Suede Laredo synthetic leather palm makes the glove as grippy as it is durable. A 3D shaped gel pad provides bar comfort without causing unnecessary bulk, and despite plentiful insulation, is still touch-screen compatible.

First Impressions => The AmFIB Lobster Gel Glove is one of my favorites for those cold days when you don’t need the full-on pogies or ski gloves. My hands have stayed comfortable down to 20-25°, though you can extend the warmth range by tossing in a handwarmer pack. The moderate pre-bent shape worked nicely when holding onto the handlebars, without binding on the back of the hand. I enjoyed the new gel pads on the palm, which offered comfort, improved grip, and additional warmth. During the winter, I always toss these into my pack, just if the temps drop or I am flying downhill and dealing with windchill factors. Excellent!

Pearl iZUMi AmFIB Lite Glove

What makes these midweight gloves unique is that there is no tradeoff between insulating warmth and handlebar feel, making them indispensable for fall and early spring riding. They begin with 60g Primaloft Gold with Crosscore technology on the back of the hand, incorporating Aerogel particles for maximum warmth with minimal bulk. But They keep the Ax Suede Laredo palm insulation-free; creating a glove that insulates you from the elements, not control of the bike. The main body fabric provides wind protection with excellent dexterity, and the synthetic leather palm makes the glove as grippy as it is durable. This is their most sensitive insulated glove.

First Impressions => These midweight gloves are fairly comfortable and offer a good compromise of dexterity and warmth. They provide enough insulation to cover the high 30ss to low 40s range, though they feel better when it’s a tad warmer. The index finger has touch screen capabilities, and the knit material offers great dexterity while braking. The glove has good wind protection properties, along with tacky leather palms, fingers, and thumb. The extensive leather coverage on the front offers excellent durability and long life.

Nathan Sports Reflective Gloves

Built for the runner’s life, these lightweight stretch gloves from Nathan Sports offer an eye-catching reflective pattern and are as comfy as they are stylish. They are smart device compatible, so you don’t have to take your gloves off to answer a call or take a picture, and they come with a built-in chamois to wipe your nose in the cold. Ideal for keeping fingers toasty on chilly days in the 30° to 50°F/-1° to 10°C range.

First Impressions => These gloves are light, uber comfy, and very stretchy. I’d say they’re perfect on those low 40s’ day while riding. The backs have enough insulation and wind protection to keep your hands warm, greatly appreciated when going downhill or when the wind picks up. The touch screen on the index finger worked nicely, though I wouldn’t be sending long messages. The horizontal sticky strips on the fingers, palm, and thumb offered improved grip, making it easier to hold onto the handlebars.
