Cosmic Dirt launched in early 2021 with a goal to bring high-quality, size-inclusive mountain bike apparel to the outdoor industry and is the first to offer a complete size range of XS-4XL, all made in the U.S. The brand built its following with a collection of streetwear and accessories, and today announced a Kickstarter campaign unveiling its very first technical apparel collection, consisting of a variety of tees and bike-specific pants. The Kickstarter launches on Feb. 3 and will run for 30 days.
If the Kickstarter goal of $25,000 is funded Cosmic Dirt aims to deliver its Everywhere Tees and Zodiac Pants to consumers by July 2022. If the stretch goals of $50,000-$100,000 are met, the brand plans to roll out a complete collection of apparel including jackets, shorts, overalls, and more.
“I’ve spent so much of my life feeling like I didn’t belong in a sport I loved because of my size and because I could never find the outdoor gear that fits properly,” said Ashley Duffus-Jambor, CEO and Co-Founder of Cosmic Dirt. “With this brand, we are building a community of people who will start to demand more inclusivity from the entire bike and outdoor industries because we are showing them it’s possible to have high-quality tech apparel for any size body. Everyone deserves access to clothing that makes the sports they love possible.”
In addition to making all of its products in sizes XS-4XL, Cosmic Dirt is committed to gender-inclusive styling and the use of neutral colors and edgy design. High-quality fabrics and materials ensure that products are going to stand up to the elements and not fall apart three rides in, therefore staying in your closet and out of the landfill. All materials trims and manufacturers are sourced intentionally, choosing sustainable materials wherever possible and only working with factories that provide a living wage and ethical working conditions.

Ashley Duffus- Jambor | CEO & Co-Founder
Ashley has been dreaming of starting an outdoor apparel company for over a decade. She has experienced a lot of frustration with active clothing options over the years, especially with cycling. She believes clothing should NEVER keep you from doing something you love, so she’s extremely excited to have the opportunity to manifest something she’s so passionate about with Cosmic Dirt.
Ashley is also a sports massage therapist and spends her off time riding bikes (duh!) and getting into trouble in the woods with her husband and border collie mix, Jasper.

Heather Kinal | CFO & Co-Founder
Heather has been bitching about the selection of mountain biking shorts for years. When the universe conspired to bring Ashley and Heather together via Instagram in late 2020, it seemed obvious that the pair were destined to create the things that women mountain bikers have been looking for. Heather manages operations and the behind-the-scenes stuff that truly makes Cosmic Dirt function.
She lives in Western New York with her husband, dog Sprocket, and a small flock of entertaining chickens. She also runs an annual mountain bike festival, @RootedMTBfest!
