OMA Winter 2023 – deuter Bike Products

Deuter has some new stuff for 2023, including the sweet Pulse MTB hip-packs, the Race Air & Race bike packs, and finally, the Cabezon bikepacking lineup.

Pulse Hip Pack Series

The popular Pulse Series is updated for Summer 2023 with the addition of the Pulse 3 ($95), Pulse 5 ($110), and Pulse Pro 5 ($125). The Pulse 5 is designed for bikers who want a versatile and thoughtfully engineered hip pack for long bike tours. At 5 liters, this lightweight and ergonomically shaped hip pack has a zippered main compartment, a mesh cell phone pocket on one side, and a water bottle holder on the other. The hip pack includes a tool organizer on the front and comes with a 1.5-liter hydration system. The Pulse Pro 5 takes it up a notch with added features like additional space for storage, a pull-forward system for versatile waist belt adjustment, and deuter’s new, quick-drying Air Spacer Mesh back carry system. The Pulse Series is PFC-free, utilizes bluesign-certified body fabric as well as recycled materials, and is climate-neutral certified.

The Pulse 5 and Pulse 5 Pro are pretty similar – volume size is the same. The Pulse Pro 5 has a different carry system with an extra elastic belt system, whereas the Pulse 5 is just a normal carry system.

Race Series

Race Air 10 & Race Air 14+3

Ultra-light yet durable bike backpack with outstanding comfort for the weight. The deuter Aircomfort back system, designed specifically for biking, with a mesh back panel that’s split down the middle, means that even less of the pack is in direct contact with the back and makes more room for a rounded spine in a riding position. The airy mesh hip fins, perforated shoulder straps, and back padding ensure maximum airflow and a solid, snug fit. This climate-neutral, PFC-free mountain biking pack uses bluesign approved 100% recycled body fabric and components made using environmentally friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices.

Race 16 & Race 8

This pared-down bike backpack with a good weight-to-comfort ratio benefits from the breathable deuter Airstripes back system. Providing athletic mountain bikers with good airflow across the back and a snug fit for technical trails. A sternum strap and mesh hip fins give the pack additional stability. With bluesign® approved body fabric made of 100% recycled materials, and components made using environmentally friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices, the Race meets the highest environmental standards and is climate neutral, and PFC free.

The Cabezon Collection

The Cabezon Series is deuter’s first premium bikepacking assortment designed for explorers who want a sophisticated, waterproof, and lightweight bikepacking setup with easy handling and reliable riding.

The Cabezon Series comes in four unique pieces, including the Cabezon Handlebar Bag 14 ($130), Cabezon Saddle Bag 16 ($140), Cabezon Frame Bag 4 ($105), and the Cabezon Frame Bag 6 ($115). Each pack is waterproof with hardwearing material, taped and welded seams, and TPU-coated zippers to keep the rain out and gear dry. The two-piece construction of the handlebar and saddle bag allows for easy loading and unloading. When taking a break, riders can leave the harness attached to the bike while detaching the dry bag to access gear. Designed with durable fabric straps made to prevent frame scratches, the entire system allows for tool-free mounting for easy attachment. The setup comes with spacers that make it customizable for a wide range of bike frame designs. The Cabezon Series is perfectly engineered for all-weather, with premium performance in both wet and dry conditions.
