The Colorado Mountain School, founded in 1981, is dedicated to education and mentorship in backcountry sports. Outdoor enthusiasts of all levels can take classes in avalanche training, mountaineering, backcountry skiing and splitboarding, ice climbing, rock climbing, and fundamental mountain skills, in addition to training courses for prospective guides. CMS also hosts a variety of experiences, from winter backcountry yurt trips to half-day fun climbs in the warmer months.

Having the proper tools for the job is important in any profession, and the Transalp ski lineup is ideal for the world-class backcountry ski terrain of Rocky Mountain National Park, Cameron Pass, Colorado’s 50+ 14,000-foot peaks, and the other terrain that CMS uses as a training ground and location for its experiences.

“Colorado Mountain School chooses our partners very carefully, and when we do team up with other brands, it comes down to the caliber of their people and the performance of their products,” explains CMS guide and educator Jason Antin. “The team at Fischer US fully grasps the importance of supporting Mountain Guides and avalanche educators and understands they play a pivotal role in helping people experience the mountains in a safe and transformative environment. From the product side, the gear we use as guides must be durable, reliable and perform well on various mountain terrain—we believe the quiver of tools that Fischer provides checks all of those boxes. We at CMS are incredibly excited to team up with Fischer this year and look forward to a great snowy season in the mountains.“

In addition to Fischer skis, CMS has also brought on One Way as a ski pole partner, rounding out the offering for guides and ensuring that their gear is light, fast, and, most importantly, fun.

“Colorado Mountain School has an incredibly talented staff of guides and instructors that Fischer is proud to partner with,” says Fischer Content Marketing Manager Jon Jay. “CMS is leading the way for residents of the Rocky Mountains through high-quality avalanche education and AMGA-certified ski guiding services in some of the most spectacular places in Colorado and beyond. The Fischer Transalp skis are going to amplify the experiences that CMS provides to the next level.”
