With the weather in the Arctic becoming more and more unpredictable, the new Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 ($2000 USD / $2300 CAD) for men and women is an evolution of the original award-winning design that launched in 2020. Since that time, Helly Hansen and its team of designers have continued to work together with Arctic professionals to fine-tune the parka and meet the changing demands of polar environments.

Built with modularity, the Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 consists of 4 layers, including:

  • Stretch, body-mapped insulator jacket made with recycled materials
  • 3-layer waterproof/breathable shell jacket with LIFA INFINITY technology
  • Durable, waterproof outer parka with PrimaLoft Gold premium synthetic insulation, preferred by scientists because it stays drier and
  • lighter than other down alternatives
  • Utility vest with multiple storage pockets and reflective detailing, which can be worn as an additional layer on top of any of the three jackets

“The Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 is the pinnacle piece of our Arctic Patrol collection, and for the last two years, we’ve had the incredible opportunity to truly understand the challenges that Arctic scientists and professionals face,” said Kristoffer Ulriksen, VP of Lifestyle & Collaborations at Helly Hansen. “As the conditions of the Arctic continue to change, we want to create gear that can be adaptable without compromising on protection, durability, and functionality. Our professionals rely on us to provide gear they can trust, and we’re confident that this new parka will meet the needs of both professionals and consumers alike.”

Helly Hansen, ambassador and Arctic Scientist and Glaciologist Heidi Sevestre worked together with the designers to develop and test this new parka. “Over the last couple of years, I’ve witnessed Arctic climates becoming warmer and rainier, a trend that will seemingly continue for years to come,” said Heidi. “Having spent much of my time researching in Arctic environments, I know that I need apparel that can handle frigid, sub-zero temperatures while also being able to function when the weather quickly changes. When working and living in the Arctic, it’s incredibly important to have gear that can keep you warm, dry, and safe no matter what conditions you may face.”
