Mountain Safety Research (MSR) announces the new Switch Stove System launch for spring 2025, an all-in-one, versatile stove that allows you to sauté, simmer, cook, or boil, and use it with your favorite pot or pan. This new stove system is designed for price-conscious backpackers seeking MSR performance and reliability.
The innovative system lets you ‘switch’ to your cookware with a quick flip of the deployable pot supporters, allowing for elevated versatility with varying pot sizes. It also features a Piezo Ignitor and a stove regulator, which provides reliable performance in the cold and at altitude for better functionality on more adventures.
Another unique feature of the Switch Stove System is the pot’s patent-pending hemispherical design. This design reduces boil time without using a heat exchanger and delivers much less carbon monoxide than traditional heat exchangers.
Thoughts => The bottom hemispherical of the pot is innovative and will provide for faster boil times. I also liked how they securely integrated the pot into the stovetop when the supporters weren’t deployed. With the pot supporters flipped out flat, the leading Switch tech is helpful and allows you to use any pot, pan, skillet, kettle, teapot, etc., and the long flame adjustment handle works under larger cookware. Other features include internal graduations for measurements, Piezo Ignitor, a stove regulator, a cork cozy, a plastic cup, a stand, a lid, and an included fuel canister.
Additional pot features include internal graduation marks and a removable sustainable, natural cork cozy, a more sustainable choice than petroleum-based Neoprene, which requires significant energy. The system also comes with a fuel canister stand and lid.

Hubba Hubba LT Series
MSR’s best-selling Hubba Hubba tent series has long been a backpacking fan favorite since its inception in 2004, twenty years ago. Most recently, MSR built on the series’ success with the launch of a bikepacking version, the Hubba Hubba Bikepack. Today, MSR announces the launch of a new model within the Hubba series family, the Hubba Hubba LT.
The new Hubba Hubba LT features more space for increased comfort and livability and lots of breathable mesh for maximum airflow, condensation management, and ultimate star-gazing.
The tent fly has improved vents, which keep the weather out while allowing excellent airflow. Additionally, the fly, floor, and mesh are made with solution-dyed fabric, which uses pre-dyed fibers to maximize the water and energy required to color the fabric and reduce carbon emissions by at least 80% compared to the previous fabric used.
Additional features include a side-loading stuff sack with a roll-top, which makes putting the tent away faster and easier than traditional top-loading bags. It also has eight Mini Groundhog Stakes, which offer better performance in all ground conditions.
Thoughts => The new design dramatically increases headroom and floor space, allowing the new Therm-a-Rest NeoLoft mattress to fit. Watching how the updated stuff sack works highlights functional features. The Hubba Hubba LT is an airy, comfy, practical, and excellent addition to their backpack tent lineup.
