The Switch

The innovative system lets you ‘switch’ to your cookware size with a quick flip of the deployable pot supporters, allowing for elevated versatility with varying pot sizes. It also features a Piezo Ignitor and a stove regulator, which provide reliable performance in the cold and at altitude for better functionality on more adventures.

The stove’s extra-long flame lever is ideal for oversized pots and frying pans, offering safety and ease of use.

Another unique feature of the Switch Stove System is the pot’s bottom patent-pending hemispherical design. This design reduces boil time without using a heat exchanger and delivers much less carbon monoxide than traditional heat exchangers. When cooking, the flame wraps up and around the hemisphere. I boiled 500ml of water in the Switch hemispherical pot (on a chilly 25° day), which took 2.5 minutes, while a standard tea kettle took 3 minutes. The hemispherical design mirrors internally, providing a functional dish shape so food won’t get stuck in edge corners.

The stove, stand, and 3.9oz fuel canister nestle perfectly within the pot’s main chamber; there is even a tiny pack cloth insert to act as padding and protect the interior from scratches and dings.

Impressions

The bottom hemispherical of the pot is innovative and provides faster boil times and slightly improved fuel usage. The cork cozy allows you to grab the pot even when it is hot, and the foldable handles make pouring easy. I liked how they securely integrated the pot into the stovetop when the supporters weren’t deployed. With the pot supporters flipped out flat, the leading Switch tech is helpful and allows you to use any pot, pan, frypan, skillet, kettle, teapot, etc., and the long flame adjustment handle works under larger cookware.

The included fuel canister integrates with a foldable 3-legged stand, which snaps onto the bottom edges of the canister and provides a large, stable platform for the system when erected. The plastic cup has graduation marks and is handy for pouring water into the central pot and as a receptacle for eating or drinking.

The stove has a Piezo Ignitor and a regulator, which helps when the air temperature drops. The deployable pot supporters hide and integrate nicely when folded inward.

The Switch Stove System pot’s bottom hemispherical design boils water quickly, while the deep indention and moderate side holes help on windy days. The pot also integrates nicely into the stovetop. When the ‘switch’ is performed by folding out the pot supporters, you can cook with varying pot and pan sizes. The Switch Stove System is a functional, versatile, and compact all-in-one kit, offering fast boil times and the ability to use varying backpacking pots or pans.
