Sea Otter 2025 – POC

POC released two brand-new helmets: Cytal, a new road helmet with an integrated wing and unique performance balance, and Cularis, an MTB trail helmet that brings a new meaning to cooling and safety. They also have the new MTB Motion Air L/S Jersey and Motion shorts and the road Cadence Cargo Bib Shorts and Cadence Bib Shorts with updated chamois.

Cularis

Find new confidence on every trail. The Cularis is a lightweight trail helmet good for going fast and having fun. Tailored for absolute comfort while pedaling on technical trails, the Cularis benefits from ventilation development techniques generally used on road helmets, keeping you cool as you pick ever-more challenging lines on the trail. Optimized for comfort and ventilation, the helmet is our lightest trail helmet, giving the proper lightweight protection for fast downcountry and XC riding.

We carried out extensive CFD (computational fluid dynamics) modeling and testing of airflow through and around the helmet to ensure that you can stay cool every time you are on the trail, regardless of the speed you are riding or the technicality of the terrain. When it comes to safety, the Cularis doesn’t compromise. It shares the same design language as its siblings, the Kortal and the Otocon, offering trusted extended protection zones and durable construction. This means you can ride confidently, knowing that the Cularis will protect you from all types of trail obstacles.

Other highlight features include POC’s patented breakaway helmet peak, which will break off the helmet in an accident, directing impact forces away from the head. The peak is adjustable so you can easily find the best position to protect your eyes from the sun, rain, and mud splashes.

Aramid bridges between the helmet liner and shell improve structural stability and penetration protection, and Mips Air Node improves rotational impact protection.

An eye garage in the front ventilation ports offers secure storage for sunglasses mid-ride, and a Fidlock® buckle makes it easy to secure the helmet with just one hand.

CYTAL

Fast. Safe. The Cytal is the ultimate choice for racers seeking a safe racing helmet that provides ventilation, airflow, and comfort at low and high speeds. The Cytal combines aerodynamic efficiency with speed and extra protection as an aero choice for every day. Shaped for efficient ventilation and airflow, the Cytal features an integrated wing to aid airflow and enhance structural stability. With air guided both above and below the helmet, the wing works to improve both aerodynamic performance and ventilation.

Developed for ultimate protection, each part of the helmet supports the others to give the most reliable protection. The helmet shell features a denser top section and thicker zones across the forehead to help minimize deformation during an impact, helping to ensure the Mips Air Node rotational impact protection system works most effectively. A lower-density EPS is used in the lower sections of the helmet, keeping weight low.

With large channels throughout the helmet, airflow through and around it is fully controlled for optimal cooling at low and high speeds, making this a natural choice for larger group rides and racing. A slightly shorter leg length helps you feel the breeze as you pedal, yet the shorts are still long enough to pair perfectly with knee pads without leaving a gap. Tiny perforations in the fabric around the inner thigh and crotch further improve airflow for ultimate comfort all day long.

Extra details like shaping the pockets so they fall to the side of the thigh rather than sitting on top while pedaling ensure you can pedal comfortably for the whole day. A hidden adjustment belt makes it easy to find a perfect fit while providing a clean, unfussy appearance.

From the strongly articulated shape that keeps the bibs most comfortable when in the saddle to the redesigned chamois shape following detailed research into saddle pressure points, the bibs make it easier to find a position in which you are both comfortable and powerful while pedaling.

The shape of the new chamois results from detailed testing and analysis of how we sit while riding, taking into the updated saddle designs of recent years. Extra layers of padding and a new gel insert in the chamois help to reduce pressure points, keeping you more comfortable for longer.

Extra details like shaping the bibs to fit better around the male anatomy and reducing pressure further help improve comfort. Other information, including elasticated suspenders, overlock seams, and wide-leg grippers with a silicone print for extra grip, helps keep the bibs comfortable and secure.
