After almost four decades as a sponsored rider for GT Bicycles, Hans “No Way” Rey announced his departure.
Hans was a pioneer in mountain bike trials and extreme mountain biking, also known as freeriding. Rey began riding in the late 1970s, and in 1999, he was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame.
Anyone who rides bikes has seen Hans in action over the years and enjoyed his iconic adventure videos. I have met him several times at trade shows and found him to be a thoughtful, positive, nice, and approachable person.
I was always very proud of his Wheels 4 Life charity group. Wheels 4 Life has funded over 18,050 bikes in more than 30 countries worldwide.
