Portland, OR (Fall/Winter 2025) – From powder days to carving laps, SMITH introduces the all-new Vantage 2, a long-awaited update to the original hybrid construction snow helmet that instantly became a brand best-seller. First launched in Winter 2011, the Vantage 2 builds upon its legacy combining industry-leading performance upgrades with a new three-piece shell to reduce weight while maximizing protection in focused areas.
Paying homage to its predecessor but built for modern adventurers looking to tackle any terrain, the Vantage 2 encompasses SMITH’s unique hybrid shell construction combining three separate pieces fusing tough bombshell ABS construction with flyweight in-mold technology, optimizing the favorable traits of each material in this revolutionary process. The result is a modern design, low in mass and volume, that provides a lightweight, low profile, perfectly fitting helmet within a clean, smooth profile.
Designed so you can venture further with confidence, the Vantage 2 incorporates complete Koroyd® coverage for lightweight, energy absorbing and ventilated impact protection. Upon impact, Koroyd crumples instantly and continuously, absorbing maximum force in a controlled manner, minimizing energy transferred to your head. The integration of Mips® Safety System, designed to reduce rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head, complements the protective properties of the helmet. The addition of magnetic Fidlock® strap buckle offers easy one-hand operation for easy removal, while maintaining a secure fit.
The original Vantage was SMITH’s first snow helmet to utilize the BOA® Fit System, and the new iteration continues to lead innovation with on-the-fly micro-adjustability encompassing 360 degrees of the head for the most adjustable performance fit with the turn of a dial.
Designed for ultimate integration with SMITH goggles for maximum comfort and venting, the Vantage 2 features AirEvac™ technology preventing fogging and maximizing consistent airflow. Dual regulator climate control offers easy, one-handed front and rear adjustment for 40 optimized vents. The addition of removable Snapfit SL2 ear pads provide added comfort and warmth and are Aleck™ audio system compatible (sold separately) for smart phone and audio player connectivity and crystal-clear sound.
