The Parka’s alpaca-based PAKAFILL insulation – a sustainable, traceable, and regenerative alternative to synthetics and down – makes the jacket a standout.

The Paka team spent years developing and refining PAKAFILL to revolutionize the way people stay warm outdoors. PAKAFILL tests warmer than all synthetic insulators on the market, according to IDFL Laboratory and Institute, is naturally antibacterial and odor resistant, and stays warm even when wet. The insulation in the jacket offers warmth from renewable, natural fibers without harming any animals.

It compresses into its own interior chest pocket (making it a great camping or travel pillow). The recycled nylon shell is water-resistant and wind-resistant, with a tall collar for extra protection where you want it most. Minimal construction keeps the style durable and fully functional without adding bulk or drag, with intentional details like perfectly placed zip pockets with glove-friendly pulls. This easy-to-layer and sustainable puffer jacket is more than a must-have; it’s a can-not-live-without.

Impressions

The Mayu Ultralight is a perfect puffy for chilly days. It’s super light, comfortable, and has an excellent, roomy cut so you can wear varying layers: a t-shirt for regular days or a thicker long-sleeved jersey for crisper days. It has just enough practical and functional features: soft-set-in wrist sleeves, large zipped insulated pockets, and an interior cinch system at the hem to seal out drafts when needed.

Simple things like the quaint zipper that uses the PAKA symbol as a pull tab make it easy to zip up and down without snagging.

The PAKAFILL insulation is ideal, offering the right balance of lightness and airiness—just enough warmth without any bulk.

If you need to pack it away, it stuffs itself into the breast pocket, making for a compact package. You can even use it as a small pillow for a quick rest!

The PAKA Foundation: A Short Film

Since PAKA was founded over 9 years ago, uplifting Peruvian communities has always been at the heart of our mission. To support this mission, we donate 1% of all revenue directly to these Andes communities. Earlier this year, we released our first 2024 Impact Report, alongside an exciting announcement in our journey – the formation of the PAKA Foundation, our own 501(c)(3), to take our impact even further.

As we approach the end of this year, we wanted to share with you, our community, all the impact you’ve helped make happen so far this year. Join us behind the scenes with Gisella, our Head of Impact and the heart of the PAKA Foundation. We’re proud to share this short film highlighting her work and these communities that make PAKA possible.
