Alne BUGrip is a lightweight and waterproof winter boot with a special midsole and 14 dynamic steel studs. A no-brainer for long, icy winter walks where you need warmth and superior traction.
Icebug Alne NT
Alne comes with a waterproof BUGdri membrane, BOA® Fit System, and our best non-studded winter grip, Nordic Traction.
The ICEBUG Alne is a light and casual-looking midcut boot with excellent walking properties. The upper is made from recycled ripstop polyester and features reinforcements for extra protection and longevity. The BOA® Fit System provides custom comfort with smooth, even closure and no pressure points. The fleece lining is warm and comfy, and, together with the waterproof BUGdri™ membrane, keeps the feet dry and warm. Their warmest winter shoes have a comfort temperature range from 0°C to −30°C (32°F to −22°F). Suitable for low activity levels in extreme cold.
The high-stacked midsole is taken from the running shoe collection, and its cushioning and easy roll make Alne a very enjoyable walking boot. The high shaft adds stability and support.

Icebug Sala BUGrip
This light and warm studded winter boot offers good traction and high comfort. It is a great option for those looking for a winter boot with good traction at a really good price. Dedicated winter shoes, with a comfort temperature range from +5°C to −20°C (41°F to −4°F). Suitable for moderate activity levels in cold winter conditions.
Sala is a light but warm winter boot designed for comfort. Its notably soft upper is quilted in recycled Ripstop polyester, a durable, water-repellent textile. A mudguard at the bottom of the shoe protects it from slush, water, and dirt. This makes the shoe easy to maintain and extends its lifespan.
The shoe’s zipper is located at the front, making it easy to put on and take off. Under the sole, you’ll find Icebug’s dynamic steel studs, BUGrip, which let you walk relaxed on ice and comfortably on sidewalks and other hard surfaces.
I tested the BUGrip dynamic studs on a block of ice at the show (stepping around), and when I placed weight on the shoe, they offered amazing traction while still allowing me to stride.
