POC is launching the Cularis Pure helmet this season, a lightweight trail lid inspired by the award-winning Cularis. It carries a five-star Virginia Tech rating and uses the same CFD airflow modeling as its sibling, with large front intake vents and internal air ducts keeping riders cool across any terrain.
The Cularis Pure is built around a new approach to the helmet peak. An interchangeable cover sits atop the helmet and can be swapped to close the ventilation ports when conditions turn wet or removed to maximize airflow on warmer days. In either setting, the peak is engineered to break away on frontal impact, reducing the forces transmitted to your head and neck.
Extended protection zones around the temples and the back of the head provide extra coverage in areas where impacts are most likely to occur. An optimized EPS liner concentrates protection where it is needed most, while a lightweight PC shell adds structural stability without adding unnecessary weight. On the protection side, POC is introducing VPD Max Joints, a patent-pending evolution of its VPD technology that uses two independent floating layers of Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough for enhanced energy dissipation at the knee and elbow. The updated VPD Air Torso also returns lighter and more flexible while retaining its EN 1621-1 Level 1 certification.
