The visually striking new device features long battery life, solar recharging, an MIPS display, accurate and reliable navigation, and an extensive list of capabilities.
The new COROS DURA 2 SOLAR, announced today, offers cyclists a full-featured, high-performance cycling computer with a long battery life and solar charging.
Beyond the vastly upgraded hardware, DURA 2 SOLAR adds offline re-routing, routeless climb detection, live tracking, and new cycling-focused fitness metrics in the companion app.
This release builds on the success of COROS’ DURA Cycling Computer and offers a completely new look and feel, with carbon and anodized aluminum materials and finishes. DURA 2 SOLAR will help cyclists across disciplines stay on course, track their training, and connect with their electronic components.
The new computer is available either on its own or with a mount for a traditional round or stem-integrated handlebar.
Notable features and specs:
- Advanced carbon and alloy construction
- 99 grams
- 5” SHARP Memory-in-Pixel Touchscreen
- Advanced suite of navigation, performance, and customization features
- 120-hour battery with 2:1 solar regen (gain two hours of battery for every hour of sun exposure)
- Three ways to interact: buttons, voice commands, and touchscreen
“For too long, bike computers have looked like functional tools attached to otherwise beautiful bikes. With DURA 2 SOLAR, we wanted to change that,” said COROS CEO Lewis Wu.
“We set out to create a bike computer that looks like it belongs on a great bike, not something you have to overlook because of what it does. But great design can’t come at the expense of performance. DURA 2 SOLAR has the features, navigation, accuracy, battery life, and solar charging to match its design. We wanted to build a bike computer that cyclists are proud to put on their bikes.”
Pricing information (USD):
- DURA 2 Solar and Aluminum Standard Mount: $549
- DURA 2 Solar (without a mount): $499
- Aluminum Standard Mount: $79
The DURA 2 SOLAR integrates with the entire COROS ecosystem; rides recorded on the device automatically upload to the COROS app, where cyclists can see fitness insights and analyze their rides and other workouts. The app also ingests data from other COROS wearables (watches and the arm-worn heart rate monitor).
Using both the DURA 2 SOLAR and a wearable gives athletes a holistic view of their fitness and recovery. The COROS app also allows cyclists to build routes. DURA 2 SOLAR is also compatible with most third-party cycling and training apps.
Available for sale on Tuesday, November 3rd at 6 AM PDT.
