Loon’r Sidekick Joins the Flock: A 10-Ounce Boot for the Everyday Side of Winter
The lightest boot in the lineup is built for dog walks, errands, and quick trips out, from +15°F to 55°F
Your new wintertime wingman has arrived. The Sidekick, an above-the-ankle slip-on boot, has joined the Loon’r lineup as the brand’s third winter style. Weighing in at about 10 ounces per boot, it’s the lightest in the flock, made for the everyday side of winter: walking the dog, running errands, or the drive to the hill.

Loon’r’s optimistic attitude embraces the elements, bringing adventure to the seemingly mundane moments. With the Sidekick, the collection now offers three fun ways to outsmart the weather. The Sidekick is made for moderately cold days, rated from +15°F to 55°F, while the Hi Flyer and Lo Rider take on the deep freeze.

The Sidekick is built on a waterproof closed-cell EVA lower that keeps the slush outside, where it belongs, topped with a lightweight, water-resistant upper. A built-in faux shearling liner ups the cozy factor, and a no-tie flap at the cuff snugs up the fit.

“Most winter days aren’t a blizzard. They’re a dog that needs to go out, a driveway, a coffee run,” said Mike Leago, founder and CEO of Loon’r. “The Sidekick is built for those days. It’s about ten ounces per boot, it slips right on, and the elements stay outside.”

The Sidekick launches in two colorways, Midnight Disco (black) and Moss Pit (forest green), in adult unisex sizes M5/W6 to M12/13.

About Loon’r
Loon’r is a Boulder, Colorado footwear brand on a mission to banish boring, cold, and clunky feet. Launched in 2024, Loon’r reimagined the winter boot around a lightweight, waterproof EVA shell in a slip-on design that’s easy on and easy off. The result is real weather protection without the weight and stiffness of traditional snow boots, wrapped in a palette of bright, unmistakable colors. Named for the loon, the bird built to stay warm and dry in the harshest conditions, Loon’r is for the notice-more’ers: people who would rather stand out than blend in. Offbeat. On foot.
