Not all sun shirts are created equal. As is SHREDLY’s way, the designers of the featherweight sun hoodie zhuzhed things up with vibrant colors, a sweet, barely visible kangaroo pocket, and a hood roomy enough to fit over a hat or helmet. All to bring you joy and functionality.
“When you need protection from the elements, let it be colorful and cute.” I agree, SHREDLY!
Three main details stand out to me about this sun shirt. Firstly, the fabric is whisper-light. Even on the hottest days, you won’t mind grabbing this sun-proof top because it never feels sticky or weighty. Your skin (and dermatologist) will thank you for protecting yourself. Secondly, I love the Flora Clay color not only because it’s gorgeous but also because, well, I can be messy…sloppy eaters unite! Have no fear, your schmears won’t show up on the festive backdrop. Lastly, if you know me, you know I love a pocket.
The kangaroo pocket on this top lies invisibly flat so you get the storage without the bulk. With a nine-inch depth, it’s genuinely useful. Drop in a snack, your grocery list, a thin wallet, whatever you might need!
SHREDLY also includes thumb holes on this hoodie. The evidence is there—when you’re driving, hiking, or spending any kind of time under our ball of fire in the sky, your skin is vulnerable, and that includes your hands. It never occurred to me to protect the backs of my hands until my dermatologist zapped some spots. Now I’m making an effort to protect that area as well as my face. Sunscreen is great, but so are sun shirts with sleeves long enough to cover the backs of your hands. SHREDLY considered this when designing the featherweight hoodie.
I wore this shirt hiking, biking, and cruising around on my recent vacation to Albania! I found I could wear it for several days before it needed a refresh and, with a simple soapy sink rinse, the shirt was GTG. It dried super quickly when I hung it on the patio. This top will also be great for paddleboarding, visiting the farmer’s market in the summer, and sipping a cocktail on a lovely sunny deck. Casual comfort meets fancy feminine.
This top runs large, so choose accordingly. I like a loose fit, so I went with my usual large, and I’m happy with how it drapes.
