Tifosi Optics released their new Swank lineup of sunglasses for the Spring 2018 season, and we found them to be comfortable and an incredibly affordable fully-featured high-performance sports-oriented sunglasses. They look good and can be used for multiple sports and leisure activities, and they feature a light, durable frame and shatterproof, scratch-resistant lenses along with a no-slip fit. They’re ideal for running, hiking, biking, and other outdoor endeavors along with driving a vehicle, hanging out at the pool, on the patio, at concerts and anywhere a functional high-tech pair of sunglass can be worn.

The Swank lineup combines a stylish retro profile with a vibrant color range with many of the same technical features found in their other sunglasses. It comes in a slew of frame colors and lens tint options with a couple that is polarized, and they retail for $39.95 for a standard lens and $69.95 for polarized. Also, if you require prescription lenses, you can order the Swank through SportRx. We tested the Swank with the Brown Fade frame with their Brown lens which has a 17.1% light transmission.

Impressions

I used the Swank sunglasses for hiking, mountain biking, camping, yard work, driving and at the waterpark and concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them. I found them to be extremely comfortable and during vigorous activities, they stayed glued to my head and never bounced or slipped out of place, even during profuse sweating. The lenses were optically transparent, and I never noticed any problems with glare and distortion during my outdoor activities. They have done well with the wear and tear I have tossed at them, and they got thrown into my trucks middle console, my backpack and gym bag and haven’t shown any overt scratching.

I tend to mostly use them while driving as I find them to be ideal due to the lenses tint and coverage and comfort of the frame. When I am done with the drive, I can keep wearing them onto any new activity without having to swap out to another pair of sunglasses. They fit well and had a beautiful old-school styling, shape, and flair making for a uniformly good looking pair of retro sunglasses. I liked the Brown lens and Brown Fade frame combination, as I’ve always been a big fan of the brown coloration for a tint. With a slew of color and tint combinations to fit everyone’s tastes, you can go all out wild or stay more subdued.

Bottom Line

The Swank feature tons of the typical excellent features from Tifosi Optics at an extremely affordable $39.95 price point ($69.95 for polarized). They’re perfect for out on the trail or running around town, concerts, camping and my fave vehicle driving. They fit well, are incredibly comfortable and don’t slip during active outdoor use and they offer up a fun retro styling that is both old and new school.
