Race-proven by ROKA Athletes in some of the harshest conditions in the toughest races, the Matador Air is the next evolution of ROKA’s revolutionary Matador design.

Aug. 9, 2021 (Austin, TX )– ROKA Sports, Inc., the Austin, Texas-based performance design company, releases the Matador Air today – a more ventilated, lighter-weight version of the best-selling, full-frame Matador with improved visibility. The new Matador Air evolved on the trails and roads of ROKA’s headquarters to meet the need for increased airflow in hot and humid conditions.

The Matador Air improves peripheral visibility, especially towards the ground, and weighs in at 25 grams, a full gram less than the Matador due to a new semi-rimless design intended to
enhance ventilation and visibility from the underside of the glasses. Strategically placed lens vents at the top and side of the lens also help increase ventilation. Finally, bendable titanium core wires in the temple allow the user to create a truly custom fit.

Thoughts => The huge peripheral vision, venting system, and unique temple design make the Matador Air stand out in a crowded sunglass market.

In line with the Matador, the Matador Air also offers ROKA’s 7-base cylindrical lens with precision C3™ optics in any position, V-CORE™ temple design for improved compatibility with helmets and caps, and no-slip GEKO™ grip on temples and nose pads, ensuring these performance glasses stay where they belong (full feature set listed below).

“When we set out to create the Matador Air, we were already working from a stellar product design in the Matador,” says Kurt Spenser, ROKA Co-Founder. “The Matador Air will give any athlete a little more ventilation and a lightweight feel on the racecourse and beyond, while still delivering on the high-quality eyewear promise from any ROKA product.”

As with any new ROKA product, the Matador Air was tested extensively by ROKA athletes like former World Tour Pro and two-time Unbound gravel champion cyclist Ted King; UCI WorldTour Cycling team, Team DSM; and eight-time Ironman champion, Linsey Corbin. While the Matador Air can be found on top cyclists, runners, triathletes, it was designed for challenge seekers of any capacity who want full coverage and uncompromising visibility.
