Bollé Rolls into Spring 2022 With Lightweight Sunglasses and Full Collection of Eco-Driven Commuter Bike Helmets
Bollé’s EPIC Design and Innovation Center have been busy developing a host of new helmet and sunglass advancements that should turn some eyes within the cycling market for Spring 2022.
Performance Sunglasses
On the sunglass side of its line-up, Bollé continues to expand its revolutionary Volt+ lens technology, their new, high-contrast lens that was developed using artificial technology to examine millions of color combinations to uncover the perfect high contrast lens.
Adding to the company’s top-of-the-line Shifter series, Bollé is introducing the new C-Shifter, a stylish new frame with bold cylindrical lenses. The half-rim shield provides excellent ventilation, and the frame, made with TR90 nylon is light, flexible, and comfortable.
An adjustable three-position nosepiece and Thermogrip rubber temple tips allow for a perfect and customizable fit. The C-Shifter also features a lens vent for superior airflow and is available with Bollé’s Volt+ lens. $170 suggested retail with Volt+ lens.
Those looking for the lightest-weight sunglasses available will love the new Icarus. Weighing in at just 24 grams, the Icarus is among the lightest performance frames on the market and is packed with performance features, including your choice of either the Volt++ or Phantom lenses.
The Icarus, like the C-Shifter, features a Thermogrip rubber nosepiece, an easy lens removal system, and S-Curved temples for helmet integration and stability. The sunglasses also have Thermogrip temple tips for improved security during performance activities.
Bike Helmets
Bollé continues to offer innovations across all aspects of the cycling market, but much of the focus for the Spring 2022 season is in its expanded line of eco-friendly commuter helmets.
Following on the heels of its successful Eco React Mips Helmet, Bollé continues to challenge traditional helmet manufacturing by replacing some plastic and petroleum pieces with organic materials to reduce the environmental impact and continue building a more sustainable brand. At the top of the line is the new Halo React Mips, $260 suggested retail, a new high-end, Eco Driven urban helmet.
The Halo React is not only Eco Driven but loaded with safety features, including 14 white LEDs built into the front of the helmet and a rechargeable red rear light to ensure you’re safely seen from the front and from behind.
All of the plastic parts included in the helmet are made from 100 percent eco-nylon. Like the Eco React, the Halo also has 20 percent cork, and the fabric in the helmet is made from 100 percent recycled fabrics.
“The same qualities that make our helmet lightweight, comfortable, and safe also make it eco-friendly,” said Tove Fritzell, Director of Product & Innovation at Bollé.
In addition to the new Halo React Mips and last season’s Eco React Mips, Bollé is now offering an eco-driven commuter collection with four different helmets in nine color options for the many customer segments that want to pursue an active lifestyle while reducing their environmental footprint. The new collection combines natural materials like cork, cotton, and bamboo with EPS shock absorbers and Bollé’s MIPS brain protection system to deliver the highest performance cycling helmet while ensuring that sustainability is front-and-center to Bolllé’s brand and design.
“It’s our natural response to the needs of cyclists who want to pursue an active lifestyle in the city while doing their part for the planet,” said Fritzell.
Rounding out Bollé’s new Eco Helmet Collection is the Eco Stance, a classic commuter helmet, and the Eco Adapt, an off-road helmet. The Eco Stance, $110 suggested retail, features 100 percent recycled lining and all of the plastic parts are made from 100 percent eco-nylon. The helmet also features 20 percent cork EPS, and its straps are made from 100 percent recycled products.
The Eco Adapt, $130 suggested retail, sits in Bollé’s off-road collection and is more affordable than the Trackdown Mips. It offers Avid Progression EPS, Coolmax Lining, an adjustable three-position visor, and dual shell construction.
