Thoughts => The Shift Split MAG is one of my fave pairs of sunglasses this year, and I reach for them time after time. Performance reimagined for today’s explorers, the new Seeker sunglass from SMITH is crafted for all terrains and endless pursuits. From running, hiking, biking, and alpine adventures, the Seeker is tailored in form and function from athlete feedback, including Anton Krupicka, by blending hidden technical features in a lifestyle-inspired frame. The Seeker is constructed from lightweight, bio-based Evolve frame material. Its trend-forward round lens design incorporates subtle side shields to block unwanted side light and dust when exploring off the map.

It is available exclusively with SMITH’s proprietary ChromaPop lens technology, which delivers enhanced color, clarity, and definition of objects in three unique offerings: ChromaPop Polarized, ChromaPop non-polarized Low Light Rose, and the all-new ChromaPop Photochromic Brown lens, which naturally adapts the tint to available light in any environment.

Additional performance features include auto-lock hinges to hold the frames open for easy, one-hand removal of the glasses, and the inclusion of megol temple and nose pads that react to sweat for a non-slip grip that won’t bounce or slide during activities. The easy-adjust QuickFit temples can be formed for a customizable, secure fit and are also leash-ready to attach to the included retro-inspired paracord rope retainer. The Seeker safely stows in the included roll-top pouch with a self-closing mechanism, integrated cleaning cloth, and cinch buckle for ultimate packability in a pocket or bag.

Thoughts => The Seeker is an excellent pair of sunglasses that does every odd job required. You can wear it while driving, at the pool, hiking, mountain biking, and around camp. It has a stylish design that is timeless yet modern. The megol temple is soft against the ears and scalp. The side of the frame has a slight width that offers some pseudo side shield while sun protection. It even has a funky paracord leash.

Where snow falls, you follow. The Smith Venture sunglasses provide eye protection on summit bids or high-speed descents in alpine environments. They’re our take on glacier glasses, with removable side shields that protect against light reflecting off snow, rock, and ice. ChromaPop lens technology offers a terrain-boosting view of every wind drift and crevasse.

Autolock hinges make it easy to put on and off when one hand is occupied with an ice axe or ski pole. The iconic round frames look just as good glissading down a snowfield as relaxing after an adventure.

Thoughts => The Venture sunglasses Glacier Photochromic lenses offer a higher range of light transmissions, ideal for sunny and snowy conditions. They are a perfect companion for high-altitude usage, sunny bike rides, and back-country ski trips. The side shields provide additional sun and wind protection but can be easily removed if not needed. They even have a nifty removable leash to keep them in place. My son keeps borrowing them from me, showing how excellent, protective, and comfortable they are.

The new Motive sunglass from SMITH offers full coverage, terrain-defining optics, and performance-packed features.

Comprised of a lightweight, high-impact resistant TR90 nylon frame in a slight wraparound fit, the Motive offers superior protection in a half-frame design for unrestricted peripheral vision. The dual lens construction is provided exclusively in SMITH’s proprietary ChromaPop lens technology, delivering enhanced color, clarity, and definition of objects. Each frame comes with two interchangeable lens tints – one for bright sun and a clear option for low-light or night rides – to accommodate variable light conditions that also feature vents in the upper corner of the lenses to help dispel heat and moisture buildup. The addition of smudge and moisture-resistant coatings provides easy cleaning and clear optics.

Auto-lock hinges hold the frames open for easy, one-hand removal of the glasses, and the inclusion of megol temple and nose pads react to sweat to provide a non-slip grip that won’t bounce while riding. The megol on the nose pads is also adjustable for a more customized fit, regulating airflow as needed.

The Motive frame’s thin temple design optimizes integration. It fits seamlessly into the eyewear channels designed into SMITH bike helmet channels, allowing for secure storage when worn off the face during rides.

Thoughts => The Motive lens curvature provides excellent coverage and protects the eyes from the sun and wind. The slight wraparound fit and half-frame design offer excellent peripheral vision. It comes with an additional lens for low-light conditions.
