Tifosi Optics offers top-quality optics at affordable prices. Their eyewear features hydrophilic Grilamid TR-90 or Thrive plant-based frames and shatterproof polycarbonate lenses. We tested the new sports-oriented Moab, Stash, and Sanctum.
Moab
Tifosi Moab is built to tackle the most challenging trails while keeping athletes comfortable and focused on the long road ahead. An impact-resistant, scratch-proof polycarbonate lens and a featherweight Grilamid TR-90 frame define its rugged durability without added weight. At just 31 grams, it is the perfect choice for extended adventures, whether hitting the road for a long ride or setting off on a trail run.
Foggy lenses can frustrate any athlete, but the Moab combats this with four well-placed vents along the bottom and sides of the Frame, promoting airflow to keep vision clear. The Moab’s adjustable hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pads grip even tighter when exposed to moisture, ensuring a secure and stable fit while navigating rough terrain or pushing yourself through intense workouts.
Moab is available in four distinct models: an interchangeable Blackout Moab that includes Smoke, AC Red, and Clear lenses; a distinctive interchangeable Plum Passion Moab with Clarion Deep Purple, AC Red, and Clear lenses; a Sahara Stash with Clarion Gold, AC Red, and Clear lenses; and finally, the Satin Vapor Moab with Clarion Red Fototec lens. All Moab models retail for an affordable $79.95 and include a microfiber cleaning bag and zippered Hardshell Case.
Impressions => The Moab is one of my favorite sunglasses from last year. The full-frame sunglasses offer an expansive and unhindered viewpoint. They are lightweight, and the wraparound Frame provides lens stability when bouncing down the trail. The bendable hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pads grip even tighter when you sweat, providing a more secure and stable fit for rough trails or pushing hard on a hike or run. The ear and nose piece’s bendability offers excellent adjustability and custom tuning for a secure stay-put fit. The tested model’s photochromatic Clarion Red Fototec Lens was excellent in varied conditions, from deep trees to open light.
- The Grilamid TR-90 frame is lightweight and durable for all-day comfort
- Adjustable hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pieces provide a no-slip grip – the more you sweat, the more they grip
- Polycarbonate lenses are shatterproof, scratch-resistant
- Available with these lenses:
- Interchange – equipped with three lenses for bright, low, and no-light scenarios
- Fototec – lenses that adapt on the fly to ambient light
- Clarion – features a water-repellent coating to protect against enhanced moisture buildup.
- Weight: 31G
- Fit: M-L
Stash
The Tifosi Stash is a versatile performance sunglasses that promotes enhanced airflow for stylish performance. Its oversized Frame is a companion for any adventure, whether for century rides or a lunch break trail run. With frame dimensions of 127mm x 53mm, the Stash is built for medium to large face profiles but intentionally lacks a top frame bar. In addition to creating a distinctive look, this open-top design increases airflow to the face and limits fogging.
In contrast, the inclusion of a lower lens bar built into Stash’s lightweight Grilamid TR-90 frame helps the sunglass maintain a superior perch and stable fit for rugged terrain. Enhancing this fit are adjustable hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pieces that provide a no-slip grip when perspiring. Cyclists and runners can choose Stash with a Fototec lens that adapts to changes in ambient light conditions or Stash with a Clarion lens that helps repel moisture and sweat. All polycarbonate Stash lenses are shatterproof and scratch-resistant for added protection and durability.
Stash is available in four distinct models: an interchangeable Blackout Stash that includes Smoke, AC Red, and Clear lenses; the distinctive interchangeable Race Pink Stash with Clarion Pink, AC Red, and Clear lenses; a Matte Smoke Stash with Clarion Blue Fototec Lens; and finally, the Matte Gunmetal Stash with Clarion Red Fototec lens. All Stash models retail for an affordable $79.95 and include a microfiber cleaning bag and zippered Hardshell Case.
Impressions => The Stash is an interesting set of sunglasses with its open-top or no-frame design. The setup helps increase airflow to the face, dissipate fogging, and offer a secure platform and stable fit for rugged terrain. Sticky, bendable hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pieces give an adjustable, custom, stay-put, and non-slip grip. Once bent over the handlebars, the lack of a top bar offers an unobstructed viewpoint.

Sanctum
Tifosi Sanctum is an oversized shield-style sunglasses that perfectly combines fashion and functionality. Sanctum is the brand’s first sunglasses style crafted with plant-based frame technology, Thrive. Even under $35, Sanctum offers the quality construction of a $200 pair of sports optics, with features like shatterproof polycarbonate lenses, grippy hydrophilic rubber nose pieces, and anti-bounce Glide technology.
Sanctum is perfect for all sports and outdoor activities, such as running, cycling, and pickleball, and for anyone who wants the extra coverage or oversized look of an active lifestyle shield. It is available in 14 variants, with different lens tints and frame colors, and retails for $34.95.
Impressions => The Sanctum offers an oversized shield-style pair of sunglasses that blends a sport-style with a pseudo-Wayfayer fashion. I liked the trick one-piece shield, offering an excellent field of view, additional coverage, and an oversized look (but not too much.) It’s light and comfortable, and due to the grippy hydrophilic rubber nose pieces and anti-bounce Glide technology, it stays put on rugged trails. These sunglasses are great for bike riding, hiking, running, and sitting around the campsite, and they are ideal for driving in the car.
