The new DBX 2.0 helmet brings Leatt’s DH-proven safety technology at an affordable price point of $99.99 and comes in four colors and three sizes. To help significantly reduce the risk of head or brain trauma it’s equipped with their 360º Turbine Technology that helps reduce the risk of head impact at concussion level (by up to 30%) and rotational acceleration to your head and brain (by up to 40%). Ten turbines are set inside the helmet that hardens on impact. Combined with the classic EPS in-molded shell, this dual-density construction dampens all kinds of impact – from low to high speed. The helmet is well-ventilated with 20 vents, lightweight and is equipped with Quattro Force Control for easy custom-fitting with the turn of a dial, a washable Dri-Lex liner that is moisture wicking, and a breakaway visor.

Leatt gave an entertaining and fun Pub Pedal launch for the DBX 2.0 Helmet launch on cruiser bikes from Fisherman’s Wharf To Lovers Point in Monterey.

There was a lot of hijinks happening with many of us riding down stairs, getting air and doing street trials (not me) on the beater cruisers. A couple of groups used some four-wheel surrey bikes which are pedal-driven carriages. Seeing them capturing air, riding obstacles and almost overturning was pretty darn funny. A big shout out to the Leatt staff for the Pub Pedal crawl. At the end of the night, I somehow ended up being the only editor left with the Leatt crew!

The DBX 2.0 is a comfortable helmet with excellent coverage over the ears and down the neck. The 20 ventilation ports provide ton’s of air movement, even during slow speeds, so I never felt my head overheating. The interior was deeply padded adding to the comfort level, and the rear adjustment fitting wheel was easy to use on the fly. The innovative 360º Turbine Technology is an incredible trick and innovative system, and I am glad it’s there for my safety and protection whenever I happen to crash. Although it’s a simple helmet with just a few features, the excellent $99.99 price point and trickle down technology from its brethren is much appreciated.

So much science goes into Leatt helmets, you’d expect it to come with a degree! For starters, there’s Leatt’s category-defining 360° Turbine Technology. Molded from an energy-absorbing material that instantly hardens on impact – the disc-shaped implants, strategically positioned inside the helmet, dissipate rotational, direct and deflective impact energy, resulting in radically reduced head and brain injury. It’s the wisest safety choice the no-holds-barred Thrill seeker could make.
