Happy 50th anniversary MSR!
MSR Celebrates Five Decades of Defying the Status Quo. They have always been a company of engineers, inventors, and unruly dreamers. Larry Penberthy started the company in 1969 on a personal crusade against unsafe equipment. Today, they’re still an intrepid team obsessed with creating the most reliable, high-performance gear possible. Whether it’s defying the status quo in equipment design or radically shifting the social mindset, they believe the most significant innovations—and explorations—are inspired by the world’s unruly dreamers.
Habitude Tent
Explicitly designed for adventurous parents seeking to share their love of the outdoors with their children, the Habitude Tent Series is the most durable and performance-driven standing-height shelter available for these adventurers. Like all MSR tents, the new Habitude Tent Series is engineered for performance and can withstand all that nature throws at it in challenging environments like sand, wind, and rain.
Available in four- and six-person models, one person (with or without a small helper) can quickly and easily set up the freestanding tent with its hubbed poles and large, color-coded pole clips. Three 7000 series aluminum poles create super-sturdy pole geometry with strength and rigidity in high winds.
The Habitude Tent Series includes family-friendly features like an expansive, roomy standing-height interior that allows everyone to stand up to change and move about comfortably. Gear pockets and hang hooks for each occupant help keep all the gadgets and accessories tucked away. The giant doorway allows for easy access with loads of duffels. And the novel integrated porch light illuminates the entryway at night.
Thru-Link In-Line Microfilter
Their new Thru-Link In-Line Microfilter is an inline system that works with hydration reservoirs to provide clean and safe drinking water while out on the trail doing outdoor activities. You can filter water quickly and efficiently with this system as it allows for a minimalistic, lightweight microfilter that connects to any reservoir. To me, it seems as though it would be the perfect water filter system for bikepackers, backpackers, and hikers since most of that group tends to bring along reservoirs of some sort in their packs.
The Thru-Link meets NSF Protocol P231 for the removal of bacteria and protozoa. Its two-stage filtration chamber includes fast-flow hollow fiber for the removal of pathogens, particulates, and microplastics, and activated carbon that reduces chemicals, tastes, and odors. Ultrasonically welded seams and robust housing contribute to the durability of the filter.
The Emergency Home Water Filtration System is available in a hermetically sealed package to protect against the elements for long-term, reliable storage. The two-stage filtration system removes pathogens, particulate, and microplastics. The Thru-Link Filter fits all standard threaded home outdoor spigots and most utility sinks.
Ceramic Nonstick Pots
They’ve updated their line of Ceramic Nonstick pots using the durable Fusion nonstick ceramic coating. The light nonstick aluminum pots will be available in a 1.3L Solo Pot, a 2.5L pot, a 2-Pot Set (1.5L and 2.5L pot), and a Ceramic Skillet. They all feature the Talon Pot Handle and a strainer lid, making for easy outdoor cooking. The Fusion ceramic coating can be used with metal utensils and is safe at high heat. Other ceramic coatings can break down at around 650 degrees, but the PFTE-free and PFOA-free Fusion ceramic coating can withstand temperatures up to 850 degrees.
Trail Lite Pots
The hard-anodized aluminum Trail Lite pots, available in 1.3L and 2L versions utilize the lightest aluminum with the strength of a hard-anodized finish, making them a reliable workhorse pots.

I just thought you’d appreciate some real world feedback on the Habitude tent from the UK…
We received our new 4P today. No porch light included. So far no response from MSR and the retailer confirmed that neither 4P or 6P come with them. They don’t appear to be listed on the MSR website as an accessory.
Also tent came with two few pegs for the number of guying points although this still leaves the tent short of the four guy lines and pegs that would provide a full compliment of lines and pegs required to fully rig this tent. Given the price tag I do think this is really rather stingy of MSR.
Otherwise, the first impressions of the tent are very favourable and our 5yo is currently spending her first night in it in the back garden. 😀
Nick,
Sorry to hear about your issues. As far as I know, it’s supposed to come with the LED Porch Lantern, which was designed and engineered by Nite Ize? Maybe it doesn’t come with non-US versions, which would make no sense to me.
I have had tents from multiple manufacturers come with missing stakes, but I usually have enough spare ones to make up for that issue. Likely a mistake during packaging?
