Handlebar Jack’s Simple, Low-Cost Solution Can Protect Damage of Expensive Bike Accessories

El Segundo, California, March 10, 2021The Original Handlebar Jack is a simple, innovative patented bike repair stand that protects the accessories that many bicycles and ebikes have attached to the handlebars. One year ago, inventor Andy Wilkoff of Furious Designs launched the product in his garage, and it has since taken off and is now being mass-produced here in the U.S., with distribution across the U.S. and in Europe and Australia.

An avid bicyclist could easily spend well over $100 on handlebar accessories.  These include items like cycle computers, expensive lights, mobile phone mounts, ebike displays, and controls, to name a few.  So, protecting these assets is crucial to preserving the overall bike’s performance.

Thoughts => The Handlebar Jack is a portable bicycle repair stand that can be used out in the field and around the house for quick repairs and maintenance. Sometimes you don’t have a stand to hold a bike, and when dealing with tire and wheel work, getting things off the ground is useful, making for easier removal. We all have a lot of gear on our handlebars, some of it can be quite pricey, and their stand keeps those items up off the ground, preventing extraneous damage. Additionally, with all the stuff up on the handlebars, they don’t always present a flat and uniform surface to keep your bike level while it’s lying upside down.

“Many of these accessories are permanently or semi-permanently attached.  This is problematic, and these items can become damaged while performing a field repair,” said Andy Wilkoff, The Original Handlebar Jack inventor and owner of Furious Designs, an industrial design firm and the creators of The Original Handlebar Jack. “The damage occurs most often from flipping the bike over to work on a flat tire or other mechanical issues. These accessories are now pressed to the ground with the full weight of the bike or ebike and often in a precarious manner in which the bike could fall over. Cyclists who are riding distances and need to repair or maintain a bike on the route need to safely and effectively be able to do this without damaging the bike or injuring themselves on the way.”

The Original Handlebar Jack solves this problem by attaching to the handlebars to lift them 3.5” off the ground, thus protecting the accessories and handlebar grips. While the item itself is light and compact, it can easily secure a bike up to 200 pounds. The Original Handlebar Jack is compatible with virtually any bicycle design, from ebikes to mountain bikes to road bikes. The two jacks lock together magnetically for convenient storage. The repair stand weighs only 3.2 ounces and is 6” in length when stored or shoved in a pocket.

Wilkoff notes that in addition to his desire to solve bikers’ problems with The Original Handlebar Jack, the company also strives to integrate social good in its products and culture. “Our products are all manufactured in the United States. Our packaging is sustainable, and we’re looking to include a philanthropic element to everything we do going forward,” added Wilkoff. “I’m not just trying to make a good product and make some money.  Giving back to the community is important to my family, and we aim to have this be a big part of our family business.”

The Original Handlebar Jack has earned glowing reviews in the cycling community and is available online for $24.95 at HandlebarJack.com. It is gradually rolling out in bike stores across the U.S., Norway, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where they are a featured brand on BikeExchange.com.au.
