SwitchGrade Makes Climbing Easy

A game-changing new bike component that makes climbing easier and descending safer. Change saddle tilt, steepen effective seat angle, and adjust reach on the fly. No tools.

The Aenomaly Constructs SwitchGrade is a saddle position control device that allows cyclists to instantly adjust their bicycle saddles into 3 optimized positions for powerful and efficient climbing, safer descending, and comfortable and pain-free riding over undulating terrain without tools. When faced with a steep climb, cyclists can rotate the saddle on the fly to provide posterior support which: (1) loads the front wheel, (2) improves rear traction, (3) prevents saddle slippage, and (4) improves biomechanical efficiency. And when descending, cyclists can tilt the saddle nose up like the DH pros for increased room to maneuver safely and with precision on rough descents. The SwitchGrade lets riders steepen or slacken their seat angle by more than 1 degree and is compatible with a wide range of seatposts and saddles.

Specs

  • 3 indexed positions for climbing, descending, and undulating terrain: -10°, 0°, +10°
  • Prevents lower back pain, groin related discomfort and numbing, and strained knees
  • Increases effective seat angle by >1 degree
  • Adds 40 mm vertical range
  • Save energy on the way up so you can bomb down
  • USD $245 /CAD $284

“Mash” Mode
Locking the SwitchGrade into climb or “Mash” mode yields an approx. >1° change in effective seat angle. This is equivalent to adjusting the saddle forward on the rails but with the unique and added benefit of providing posterior support to prevent sliding off the saddle thus minimizing arm, leg, and core muscle fatigue. This ideal saddle position for climbing effectively shifts a rider’s center of mass forward to help keep the front wheel down while simultaneously increasing rear wheel traction.

“Dash” Mode
Lock the SwitchGrade into the middle index for flat or undulating terrain, best used for variable grades between +/- 5°.

“Smash Down” Mode
There’s nothing worse than dropping into a gnarly chute only to get hung up on your saddle on entry or exit amirite? Make sure it never happens again. Lock the SwitchGrade into the upper index for descending, so that the rear end of the saddle is tilted down.  You typically move your butts off the back of the saddle and having the back of that saddle lower makes it easy to slide back and forth.
