Pale Blue Earth creates rechargeable smart batteries to reduce the world’s consumption of disposable, single-use alkaline batteries.

They realized that advances in technology could enable a better way for consumers to meet their battery needs without creating unnecessary waste. The advent of the ‘lithium-ion age’ and the advancement of battery management technologies make for high-performing, convenient, reliable, and user-friendly rechargeable batteries.

Their rechargeable smart Li-ion batteries are the perfect replacement for disposable batteries usually used for game controllers, flashlights, remote controls, cameras, etc.

Pale Blue batteries have a micro-USB port right on the battery.

Superior Performance and Ultra-Fast Charging

With their advanced lithium rechargeable technology, Pale Blue batteries charge 5x faster than conventional Ni-MH rechargeables (not verified). NiMH batteries recharge very slowly and have a hard time keeping up with any high-use applications and electronics, plus they discharge when not in use (all true). Pale Blue’s chemistry and smart circuitry resolve these issues, making for a fast charging, powerful, and long-lived battery. Not recommended for use in smoke detectors and carbon dioxide detectors (common manufacturers retort for any rechargeable battery type).

The batteries each have a small micro-USB port on their sides to connect up their charging cable. The connectors securely snap into place making for an easy charging process. The AAA is more finicky to connect due to the smaller diameter but isn’t too bad after some practice.

Pale Blue provide a 4 ended micro-USB cable so you can charge 4 at a time.

Recharge.Reuse.Restore.

Don’t throw away cash with disposable batteries, since a single Pale Blue Li-ion rechargeable will replace 1000+ alkaline disposables (not verified). Every battery you buy needs to be produced, shipped, stored, sold, and disposed of. All of those steps are a huge squandering of the world’s resources and create unnecessary waste and a larger carbon footprint.

They come with a USB to a four-ended micro-USB cable which connects up to each battery’s side port. I was able to mix and match battery sizes or charge 1-4 batteries at once, depending on my preference. You can charge them from a powerbank, a wall wart, or a USB port on a computer. Each battery draws 0.5A, so depending on how many batteries are attached you will draw a higher amperage, so if the power supply is less than it can draw it will take a tad longer to charge, though it’s not really an issue for most modern ports. The battery will blink green while charging and go solid when fully charged. I am still testing charging times, but it seemed around 45 minutes for AAA, and less than 1.5 hours for AA.

They come in AAA and AA sizes in 4, 8, and 12 packs, and C, D, and 9V in 2, 4, and 6 packs.

Currently testing their AAA and AA sizes.

I cannot get the charging probe into the Pale Blue batteries. I bought them several years ago and have not charged them in a long time. I was able to hook up 2 batteries to one each of the 2-probe chargers. Very frustrating. I need power and spent alot of money on these.
