Aetrex’s Albert 2 Pro is an innovative foot scanning device that uses Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence technologies to transform the way customers purchase shoes and orthotics. Customers begin by standing on a coated foil with an invisible nano material containing the geometric calibration patterns used by the scanner’s cameras.
I just stood in my stocking feet in the middle of the scanner, with my weight evenly distributed to get the proper readings.
Four state-of-the-art Intel RealSense 3D Depth Cameras capture the most accurate foot data with key measurements, such as length, width, girth, in-step, and arch height, all down to 1 millimeter through a 20-second scan process. The data is then converted into a 3D model for an engaging, interactive consumer experience by utilizing over 3.5 million data points.
The data showed the shape of my feet and the stats of everything. I always thought I had a size 9.5 foot, their data said size 10!
Customers also undergo a pressure test using Aetrex’s premium pressure plate technology designed to capture complete foot data about customers’ unique arch depth and pressure points, indicating where they’d be prone to discomfort or pain.
My foot pressure distribution data was pretty darn cool, and it was much different than I thought it was going to be.
This data is used to provide custom orthotic recommendations based on the customer’s unique feet. In addition, Aetrex’s proprietary FitGenius Artificial Intelligence platform provides footwear recommendations, offering the best fitting shoes by brand, style, and size, based on one’s unique foot data.
The recommendation for my feet was either the Speed L700, Train L800, Compete L400, or the Premium Memory Foam L2300.
The voice-activation feature helps guide users through the scanning process, and a life-like 3D animated character named Albert helps answer any questions about foot health or a foot scan. The Albert 2 Pro is an engineering marvel that combines form and function, allowing customers to have an optimal foot scanning experience and receive customized footwear and orthotic recommendations for the perfect fit.
Engineered to help consumers find the right fitting footwear and orthotics and enhance the in-store shopping experience, the Albert 2 Pro combines computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, and cloud analytics to deliver a state-of-the-art, easy-to-use retail solution.
Aetrex has over 10,000-foot scanners in over 50 countries, completing more than 40 million scans. With its collective global foot data database, Aetrex develops supportive and comfortable footwear and orthotics for customers everywhere.
