Australian company Great Wrap developed a revolutionary stretch wrap material made from potato waste. They’re a team of bio-designers, engineers, and scientists that have developed a new paradigm of packaging technology that enables us to manufacture compostable stretch wrap. Their materials perform the same as conventional plastic but will break down in under 180 days. Great Wrap is 100% compostable, meaning it will add organic matter to your compost pile, leaving no microplastics behind.

“We don’t support half-truths or greenwashing. Our products are made from the best materials possible, every day. We believe true innovation happens on a molecular level. The materials we touch and feel must be redesigned from the beginning. Currently, we use the starch from potato waste; in the future, we will continue to innovate by utilizing the greatest technology available.”

The brand is launching in the US with their refillable dispenser made from 33 recycled plastic bottles, called Great Mate, and their certified compostable cling wrap called Nudie Rolls. This cling wrap completely breaks down in a compost pile in under 180 days – leaving behind zero toxins.
