Ursa Major Force Field SPF30 is a new lotion/sunscreen combo from the B Corp-certified Vermont-based skincare company.

This advanced, mineral-based SPF 30 moisturizer provides full-spectrum protection from damaging UVA & UVB rays, blue light, and environmental pollution while also tapping proven clean actives like Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane, Elfdoc Flower, and Lingonberry stem cells to help boost skin’s moisture retention, firmness, and elasticity.

Features

Mineral-based products with the singular goal of protection from the sun often leave that not-so-glamorous white cast look and can leave pores feeling clogged and sticky. Force Field not only goes on smooth and leaves no white residue, but it’s also free from chemicals like Oxybenzone and Avobenzone. This all-in-one cream is intended to help protect against harmful rays while nourishing your skin.

Moreover, Force Field is also formulated to help fight fine lines and wrinkles and aims to combat inflammation-causing pollutants like blue light and particulate matter. This makes it the perfect UVA/UVB fighting cream you can use daily moisturizing. And if it’s part of your daily routine—which sunscreen should be—you’re protecting your skin all daylight hours.

  • Mineral-based SPF 30 moisturizer
  • Easy application, no white-cast
  • Recyclable glass component
  • Alpenrose, elfdock flower, & lingonberry stem cells help protect against blue light and environmental pollution.

Details of Ingredients:

Zinc Oxide (Non-Nan0, 14.95%) Lingonberry Stem Cells – Offers broad-spectrum sun protection by scattering, absorbing, and reflecting harmful UV radiation.

Sodium Hyaluronate – Helps skin retain moisture to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Rubus Idaeus Seed Oil – Part of a natural SPF blend to protect the skin further.

Plant-Derived Squalane – Improves the appearance of skin’s tone and texture.

Elfdoc Flower – Helps protection against blue light and pollution while strengthening the skin barrier and dialing back wrinkles and sagging skin.

Impressions

Force Field SPF 30 is easy to put on. Just squirt a couple of dollops onto your hands and rub it into your face, ears, and neck, covering all exposed parts. Although it can be used on your legs and arms, I always wear long-sleeved shirts for sun protection, so I only cover my facial areas.

Just rub it onto your face until the sunscreen disappears into your skin. You should reapply every 2-4 hours, depending on your skin type, cancer risks, sun exposure, and outdoor skin experience.

Like any zinc-oxide-based sunscreen, rub it enough to remove any remaining ghostly spots or splotches. Compared to similar sunscreens, it was easier not to get any white residue, so I never looked like a tourist on the beach.

Once on your skin, it leaves a non-greasy feeling and makes it feel replenished and invigorated due to its moisturizing functionality and ingredients. Even during profuse sweating while working out, I never had any issues with the sunscreen dripping into my eyes. The sunscreen seemed to stay put once applied; sweating, swimming, rough activities, and dabbing my face with a towel keep things functioning for sun protection.

I predominately used it while mountain biking, but I have used it while performing yardwork and hanging out during concerts.

I liked that it’s a mineral-based sunscreen (zin-oxide) and uses plant-based ingredients such as alpenrose, elfdock flower, and lingonberry for protection. The lack of typical nasty sunscreen chemicals, such as Oxybenzone and Avobenzone, provided a safer alternative for your skin and body. The additional moisturizing ingredients, such as Sodium Hyaluronate, provided further skin protection, damage reduction, and rejuvenation. It has protected my face from sunburning during extended forays in the mountains and foothills of high-altitude Colorado.

Bottom Line

Ursa Major Force Field SPF 30 offers excellent protection from the sun and can be used for any regular activity and plain old day-to-day usage. The squirt bottle makes it easy to apply and rub into the skin without leaving a white cast. The combination of sunscreen and moisturizer protects and nourishes your skin, helping to alleviate long-term and short-term damage while recreating outdoors. It’s a safe ‘Good for your Skin’ sunscreen.
