The Topeak LineUp Stand Max is a folding stand for storing, holding, performing maintenance, and displaying various-sized bicycles.
It utilizes a spring-loaded arm that stabilizes the rear wheel, and an adjustable tire chock accepts everything from 20mm road tires up to 3.25″ wide mountain bike tires. This design means the stand fits most road bikes, mountain bikes, or eBikes on the market.
When folded up, the stand is compact at 19.4″ x 7.7″ x 4″ (49.2 x 19.5 x 10.3 cm), making it easy to store almost anywhere.
Just extend the four legs outward to assemble the stand. The four legs provide a stable platform of 20.7″ x 16.9″ x 15.9″ ( 52.5 x 43 x 40.5 cm) to hold the bicycle securely in place.
Pull the small pin at the rear to extend the holding arm. Insert the bicycle rear wheel into the stand bottom slot, and twirl the adjustable cone-shaped tire chock until it matches the width of the rear tire. Once the tire is securely held in place, you can use the bike as needed, whether for display, propping it up, or performing maintenance.
Impressions
The stand works for 26″ to 29″ sized wheels and tires up to 3.25″ in width. It can hold bikes weighing up to 66 lb (30 kg), which is substantial. The stand is made from heavy-duty steel, 6061-T6 aluminum tubing, and engineering-grade polymer plastic, all of which help hold the bike’s weight and protect the stand from long-term use.
It compacts down to a small and packable size and only weighs 5.73 lb (2.6 kg). The Foldable Design means the stand can be compacted down for easy storage in a vehicle, garage, or home shop.
The four legs rotate outwards and provide a stable and functional platform.
The Adjustable Wheel Chock system provides a wide range of bike wheels and tire widths, everything from 26″ to 29″x 3.25″ and 700x55c. This adjustable system fits most road bikes, mountain bikes, or ebikes. The adjustable wheel chock is innovative, simple, and practical, allowing me to hold my X-country bike with 2.4″ tires and my Enduro bike with 2.6″+ tires in the same stand.
The bottom slot is wide enough to accommodate all those widths of tires, and even when the tire was skinnier than the slot, the bike didn’t wobble around too much or fall over since the spring-loaded tire chock held it securely.
I primarily used the stand for maintenance when I was parked by my truck before a ride. I’d lube the chain, pump up the tires, check the brakes, check suspension pressures, etc. I also would use it at home when I washed the bike, as it offered an easy way to hold the bike and provided 360-degree access for cleaning. Occasionally, I’d use it to keep the bike upright before a ride instead of laying it on the ground or leaning it against a tree. Although it is meant for storage purposes, like in a garage, home, or basement, I rarely used it in that capacity.
My only gripe is that I wish the extendable legs snapped or locked more firmly into position since they sometimes like to wander inward slightly, which means you can lose just a tad of stability, though it never meant the bike fell over. If you tried to move the bike while it was in the stand, the legs could get caught and moved out of place.
The Topeak LineUp Stand Max was so easy to pop out the stabilizing legs, open the pin, extend the holding arm, and plop my bike into the stand that I used it almost all the time. With its adjustable tire chock, the compact stand made it work with a slew of bikes.
