We tested the Huk Coldfront+ Pullover Hoodie in size medium, which felt true to size. It is a Lavender heather color.

I’m a convert! I used to think a sweatshirt had to be 100% cotton. How else could you get that soft, comfy feel? Now I realize those bulky cotton sweatshirts aren’t all that flattering. They also really don’t stretch and move with your body. I’ve changed my mind about hoodies! The Huk hoodie I reviewed is a polyester spandex blend, which I loved for its flattering, stretchy fit.

The Huk product line is generally targeted toward fishing and water activities, but living in a desert, I just haven’t spent much time in that world. However, I recently took up pickleball, and I found the Huk pullover to be my go-to pickleball shirt. Today, it was in the 40s, and I was perfectly comfortable. Plus, I like to think I looked good!

The hoodie has the typical kangaroo pocket—great for stowing pickleball balls. In addition there is a pretty sizable zippered pocket, ideal for stowing lip balm, keys, or even a phone.

I usually wear a size large, but the medium fits me really well. The shirt does not have thumb holes, which is a relief. I honestly find those annoying. They are never really sized correctly. Also, I need my entire hand available to me while playing, and I would think anglers would as well.

This hoodie has a soft fleece feel on the inside, but it’s not a heavy fleece, so I didn’t overheat in it. I love the lavender heather color.

As a note, the word Huk (pronounced hook, not huck) comes from the word hook—a piece of curved metal used to catch things. I can recommend to you that you might want to catch what Huk is dishing out—they have some great designs, and the quality seems top-notch. I may not take my hoodie fishing, but I will take it to the lake when I go visit my mom this summer! Also, pickleball!!
